It is probably the one that comes out of the park when it's getting toward sundown. I saw a bruiser there one time. I saw quite a few sable on my hunt in Omay North last week. A hunter Shawn Buffee was guiding took a nice heavy horned bull while we were there. About 38" and heavy bases. Hunted the right way... spotted at 6:00 am and shot at 4:30 pm. Those old bulls love the hills! On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. I spent a week trying to find a sable like that after buff and spots were in the salt . . . and I still have not found one. There's not much I like better than a big sable. Will J. Parks, III | |||

Yes, those Mapongola Hills are a good place to hunt Sable, particularly the flat topped Ndepa.  | |||
