SaeedOur First Zebra!
I hope the zebra was the only one to spill blood. Please take care and have a good hunt.

HonkeyI have found Zebra very hard to kill in my limited experience. I guess a light aircraft makes short work of them.
Stay safe, I hope this is your only mis adventure on this hunt.

I guess that answers the question, whether a Cessna is enough airplane for a Zebra...

Hope everyone is O.K. and had their seat belt on - the photo will definately make a great conversation starter!
Always use the right tool for the job......IMHO those Cessna's are a little light for heavy Plains Game.....

BwanamichSaeed,
The aircrafts' registration gives your attempted prank away

Not to mention that it would be very hard to find "Grevy" zebra in the selous

That's a kenyan registered aircraft and no doubt you (Or should I say Walter

) were not involved......?????

hop you have a safe and successful trip!

GeorgeSNow, EVERYONE knows that you need either a light aircraft at high velocity or a large aircraft at low velocity to cleanly take a zebra.
Using a light aircraft at low velocity is unethical, unless you are using a hard-cast nose-cone.

I thought hunting under any circumstances was banned in Kenya?
Saeed, please assure us all that noone was injured. I certainly hope "The balance" of your hunt is more fun than this.

SaeedGentlemen,
These photos were sent to me a while back, and Walter insisted that I should post them now.
He said "we might as well start lying early"!
We have not left yet. We leave early tomorrow moening

I suppose MacD37/Dugaboy would recommend a twin engine -- got to have a quick second in reserve!

AtkinsonThe part of that aircraft number that doesn't show is 45-70 no doubt!!

that makes it an excellent Zebra killing machine!

surestrikeI would recomend moving up to a C-185 minimum and using a controlled pitch prop. That push prop seems to have misfed.

Saeed:
Did you use a larger Cessna engine to get a few hundred extra fps out of it?
Do you think the extra speed kills them faster, and moves your Cessna into the range of a double engine Cessna?
Are you going to post reloading stats soon for your 404/Cessna?

Are you hunting lion?

I think that is what I like about Walter. He likes to get out in front of the curve, even if it means fabrication and deceipt.
You can be sure noone is going to pass on reading the next bit of "NEWS" from your hunt.

SwiftShotDawm road hunters. Good thing it happened on take off if it happened on landing you could get a ticket for flying and hunting same day. I think its only in alaska but you never know.
I was thinking about necking a cessna down to a remote controlled toy plane for varmits what do you think.. Trying to get as many fps as possible.

SaeedWhatever one can accuse members of AR of, lack of a sense of humor is not one of them

It is just after 5 am here, and I am having a cup of coffee before heading off to pick up Anna-Marie and Horst on the way to the airport.
Walter is supposed to make his own way. He was told to be at the check in counter by 6. He has a tendency of being late, so I have told him we go through immigration as soon as we check in, and if he is not there, tough luck. He can stay behind.
If we are lucky that is! At least we will get saved from induring a barrage of insults during the trip!
