I have not read the book yet, but will definitely do so. I thought the article about her life in Africa was fascinating.

Unless you want to bring attention to your cause by getting yourself killed for it don't go around making a fuss in Kenya.

Everyone is aware of the rule and noone is surprised when those breaking it are targeted.

After a wedding in Nairobi, Kenya, in February 1961, they packed their Land Rover with enough supplies to last them for months, and drove out of the city, ready to capture on film an Africa they believed was disappearing.

What a sad story, "they" were right.

I was in Kenya when this happen but I don't remember the details that lead to her killing. she had made enemys of some of the locals. I don;t remeber if it was about land or wildlife. I know some people who where her friends and they where not supprized in that area at least 1 white land owner is killed every month. not long after her killing a flower farm owner was murdered at his front gate.

BBC ran a feature length documentary with the same title.Apart from other enemies, her crazed neighbour appears to be the prime suspect.
