Given the choice of hunting buffalo or elephant in the Caprivi, which one would you pick? I know the right answer is "Both!", but barring a lucky stock pick, that isn't in the cards at this time.

I’ve done both multiple times. Prefer elephant hunting there.

Without question elephant. Most exciting hunt on earth.

I have hunted both buffalo and elephant in the Caprivi Strip - and I would also choose elephant if I had to choose only one. I’d also hunt late, no earlier than mid to late September. It will be hot, but the elephants will be active.

I've always wanted to go back to Namibia. Haven't hunted there since 2007. And always wanted to hunt the Caprivi.

Namibia issues a limited number of "own use" permits for elephant bulls, where the elephant becomes the property of the natives for meat. Those hunts are considerably less expensive than a trophy hunt.

Which concession. They vary greatly and choosing the wrong animal in the available concession will see you going home empty handed
Once you have chosen you should also look very carefully at months of the year when that concession is hunt-able and has yielded results

Also make sure the outfitter selling the concession was the one who had the success there
They change hands and often the success leaves when the outfitter does
Good luck
