Comparing SCI with DSC is just like comparing chalk and cheese.

I cannot remember hearing ANY of the exhibitors and visitors to DSC complaining about much.

Those exhibiting and visiting SCI have a lot to complain about.

Add to that the fact that shady characters - like Out of Africa and Mark Sullivan - have been banned from attending DSC for years, while SCI was more than happy not just to let them exhibit, but actively support them - as in the case of Out of Africa.
Sullivan is 'shady' and was 'banned' from attending DSC?? Really?? bewildered

He must be so bad really, as he is banned from SCI too!

Saeed - I think Matt is questioning the statement of "Sullivan is 'shady' and was 'banned' from attending DSC. I would have to agree with Matt. Nothing has ever been said about Mark Sullivan being 'shady'. He and SCI parted ways because SCI didn't think some of his methods and actions in his booth at SCI met their requirments. "Shady' has never been an issue at SCI or DSC to my knowledge.

Way, way off the topic if I might add??

Have always wanted to go to the SCI show and am finally doing it this year. Kind of surprised at the entrance fees but oh well probably not going to be an every year trip. Plus you have the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation going on as well as Super Bowl Sunday. We live in Oregon and I got airfare and 6 nights at the MGM signature, Tuesday thru Monday for $510 each thru Expedia. Thought that was an awesome deal. Sure, are 2 four day passes cost us $520 but I think it will be a good time. Go to Vegas once a year anyway and aren't a big gambler so this will be better then walking thru the forum shops!

John - You will have a good time no doubt. Plus the Casino action is almost always on the draining side as opposed to the SCI entry fee which goes to a good cause. Should be some kind of meet set up for AR members on here soon. Always good to see some AR folks even if for a short time in a casual setting.

At the end of the day, the entrance fees although "expensive" in reality are just 4 or 5 hands of black jack......

Or 1 hand at 5am jajajajaja

Correct - I have never heard any evidence that he is 'shady' (or banned from DSC) ... in fact in another thread here there are members recommending him for a high-dollar hunt!!

Larry,

The way I see it, SCI and Mark Sullivan are very similar.

Neither could not care less what is right and what is wrong, as long as the money keeps coming in.

Mark's videos despell any reservations I might have that he is actually NOT doing something tottaly wrong to make all those buffalo charge.

SCI has asked him on numerous times, so I gather, to stop showing his videos, he did not listen.

So they kicked him out.

From what Mark himself has posted, there was nothing amiccable about SCI kicking him out.

And for once I agree with SCI.

WOw I didn't intend to start a 3 page discussion. I'm going to SCI for the first time this year and was curious about the cost of the day passes.

when an exhibitor at SCI or DCS has to pay X number of dollars for overhead, who do you think ultimately pays for it? hint-you/me/the consumer. when a supplier of a service sees his cost go up, the consumer pays for it in the form of increased daily rate/fees . when an outfitter is extorted by SCI and the LV unions for exorbitant fees, who do you think pays for it? you get one guess.

TBD - No need to worry, I just hope you got your questions answered before things got off target? Not your fault by any means. It seems some here (the same old ones), choose to use these threads simply to bash SCI at every opportunity without any regard to others who post here with sincere questions.

If you stay around here long enough you will learn who the ones are that actually know the facts and those who just like to bash SCI at every opportunity with hearsay, wrong facts and figures and some possible underlying factor they are trying to hide.

Jdollar - Give it up, you still don't have your FACTS straight. SCI raised the 4 day rate a couple of years ago by a mere $15.00 and that is still the rate for this year, despite your trying to tie Unions and such to the price they choose to charge. NO PRICE INCREASE this year. Geez.
