I just came back and must say that I really had fun and it was my favorite trip of the 3 that I attended.
The thing that made my trip was all the smiling faces that I came across. The weather had something to do with that too-I guess because it was really nice.I walked the whole strip from north to south 3 times and had breakfast and dinner at the Wynn hotel almost every time. The smiles were not only in the convention but everywhere-in the hotel and out on the streets. It was a pleasure to meet npd345,see Brent Hein again, meet Craig Boddington,Mike from the "Hoot and Shoot" and all the strangers I met.Of course not everyone was happy but I seemed to attract the happy ones!
My favorite rifle of the show was a Double rifle by Butch Searcy at sale at Cabelas-a classic model. The kind salesperson insisted I handle it.
Proud to be a hunter!

George,

I enjoyed speaking with you again. Good luck on your upcoming hunt.

The show was great. It was good to see everybody after missing last year.

Even booked an interesting hunt.

Enjoyed the convention and meeting old friends. I kept so busy, I didn't have the time to scurry over to the giraffe bar like I had hoped. Heck, I didn't make any of the seminars I had pencilled in either...

That Biebs guy was sure busy, went by the euro optic booth a few times, and he always had a crowd.

As to Vegas, I can take it or leave it. The food and entertainment choices are huge, which is nice for some, but I kinda miss the smaller town feel of Reno.

I spent way too much money, I am gonna be busy this year.

It was nice to be able to attend for the whole four days. The most we could go in the past was 1 1/2 days.

Spent the first day finishing some targeted stops to pay off the two hunts coming up in less than two months. We also visited with friends working the floor.

The next three days we slowly worked our way through the entire show. It was fun talking with folks at booths we might not have stopped at without the feeling of extra time.

Dinner with Darin and Bob was as much fun as expected, although the photo session was a bit unplanned. Big Grin

Nice getting to spend some time with Larry Shores watching Joyce and Mary Lynn really hit it off.

All in all a very nice trip. I do think the long walks to get to the convention itself either from the bus drop off or the tram was probably tough on some of the less fit crowd.

Cheers
Jim

I had fun and lots of it
Spoke to Larry Shores and Biebs and I will get one of those Blasers.
Couldn't find you George ( you had my number but I didn't have yours and I didn't see you at CMS booth)
Stopped by Charls booth and Phillips. Talked to Aaron and Mark You ng and John ( 375 John )
I'd say, that's all the AR guys.
Totally forgot to get hold of Wendell ( sorry Wendell )
Hung around several friends and finally talked my friend from a bitterroot into African hunt ( leopard to boot )
Renae loved it, which means I got laid right? ha ha
Spoke to CB, tried to talk to Jeff Rann but got the classic ( not looking like potential client l) look.Literally.
Also spoke to few guys I hunted with previously
Great show despite you DSC naysayers saying otherwise.

It is nice to see you had a great time at the show,Milan.I did not think I would be exhausted like I was.I should not have gone to the gym while I was there.I was sure you would be having a good time anyways.

I should have brought a small camera along and took pictures-maybe next year.I saw a lot of nice looking vintage doubles also.My favorite vintage was a Jeffrey 475 No.2 at the Champlin arms booth.I saw the bore from the muzzle end and it looked worn. The tag said it had chopper lump barrels.I really wanted to ask so I can handle it but did not.I did open the action on a Heym,VC and a Krieghoff along with the classic Searcy I mentioned.

Great show as all ways meet old friends and make new ones. Liked the new Leica ER5 scopes they have a 1.5x8 that may find it's way on to my 400H&H.
Gave my wife the choice of a 2016 hunt in the Save or an Ibex hunt in Kyrgyzstan she's leaning towards Kyrgyzstan..

I was there all four days and thoroughly enjoyed the show. tu2 It was busy every day. Saw many people that I knew, and missed others. It took two full days just to walk the entire convention floor and see everything properly, with a few stops to visit with vendors now and again. The weather was clear and in the 70's. I too, bought more things than I should have! Big Grin

It was a pleasure to meet you George!

I had a great time at the show and talked to several members of the forum.

A feature in my iPhone6 measure the distance and it was a little over 13 miles of walking over two days!!

Don't be afraid to ask George Caswell any question or to look at a double. He or JJ would be happy to show them to you and let you handle them as well. He'll even assist in letting you look at the water tables or barrel markings (proof etc...).

They are a class act and know their doubles

I should add that William Larkin Moore always has a few really nice double rifles at their booth and are always happy to answer any question or take their doubles down as well.

Highlights:

finally got to meet John Sharp, he seemed very pleasant and easy to talk to.

was able to purchase H&H's new history book.

bummer, Buzz Charlton did not make it this trip. I understand that the local bud distributor delivered two less truckloads of beer.

I did go ahead and buy CB's book on hunting in Argentina.

Got visits in with about everybody I wanted to.

Rich

Frostbit,

Joyce is right, you are going to need a bigger house.
