Interesting reading in the latest edition of the Hatari Times (No. 20). In the article "Hwange Bulls", the author notes that the 3 year suspension of lion quotas around the Park was imposed when "a South African booking agent recently has his clients shoot five times more than the allocated lion quota". It appears from the article this was a large scandal. Anyone have any more information on this, like who the agent and PH was? To those of us going or planning trips to Africa over the next few years, it might be useful information in avoiding outfitters employing such practices. SCI Life Member DSC Life Member

I hunted on unit 5 in Matetsi from 1999-2004 which boarders Hwange Park and each year there was noticebly less lions, the quotas were too high, they did lower them last year, which was good news. Cats come back fast so in a few years it will be good again sorry about the spelling, I missed that class.
