Many of you might remember our little desert fox, Fluffy.

Right now he is the most popular little menace we have, and regardless of all the things he tears apart, he is loved by everyone - except Walter!

Saeed, what kind of Fox is Fluffy, and what would his natural diet consist of in the wild? That's one of the coolest "pets" I've ever seen. I wish I had one. Thanks for sharing!

This a Ruppel's fox.
His normal diet consists of insects, small rodents and fruits.

We feed him meat, fruits and nuts.

I have stopped bringing him to our shooting room once he has grown, as he can jump from the ground onto the work tables. And we have all the cleaning fluids etc. So he was knocking everything down as he ran about.

He watchs soccer with us as you can see in the video. And one of his tricks is to come from behind, and jump on your head. He then used your head as a sort of massage board for his neck and under chin! He puts his front legs on your shoulder, and lays his head over yours, rubbing it.

He loves to play with feathery and hairy toys. They don't last long, as he tears them apart.

My daughter plays with him by taking a tissue paper, making it into a ball, and throwing it in the rubbish bin.

He jumps straight in, gets it out, and proceeds to run with it and tearing it appart.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Thank you.
What a fantastic little critter. Fluffy appears to have cat's eyes.
Have you had him find his food in the dark, or something similar?
I'm sure his night sight will be second to none.

Fluffy must smell a lot different than the red foxes we have in the USA, or you'd never let him in the house!

Is he litter box trained?

And children want to sit in front of a TV all day...don't know what they're missing! jumping

The other day Hessa came home from school with some of her class mates.

They sat in the kitchen having some food. We have a large high table, which Fluffy finds hard to jump onto.

Hessa asked me to get Fluffy, and let him loose in the kitchen.

I brought him in, and closed the door, and sat in a corner by the window.

Fluffy was running around, examinig n everything, climbing on their legs, coming to me and jumping straight ontop of my head, and generally being a playful fox!

The girls were screaming with joy, laughing so much tears were coming down from their eyes.

Food was forgotten, and snack time, which normally is finished very quickly as they want to go play, took a looooong time.

One of the mothers came in, and Fluffy immediate took a fancy to her. She, on the other hand, wasn't too impressed with this idea. She started screaming louder than the kids.
And the kids notched up the screaming a few decibels more.

Eventually I took Fluffy back to his room.

And one of the mothers announced "This is a mad house!"

"And we are very proud of it!"

Those are two of the coolest video's in the animal kingdom. Thanks so much Saeed. My friends are rolling in the floor! There is a pet toy; tennis ball with a fake hair tail. You turn the switch on and it spins around and cats/dogs go crazy over it. I suspect Fluffy would make short work of it very quickly, but would be hilarious to watch.
Cheers,
David

I showed this video to my 4 yr old son. He said he would like to pet Fluffy. I told him that Fluffy lives in the United Arab Emirates and that it was a long way away and pointed our where the UAE was on a place mat map that he has. He said it was "No problem, we can just drive there in your big white truck cuz it will go about anywhere"!

Thanks for sharing!

What fun! Like a small, fluffy terrier. Some people are breeding fennecs as pets in the States, now. I know a retired Marine SGM who has one. He says the only drawback is that they're nocturnal. Is Fluffy a day critter?
