It was a great visit guys. We kept hoping for a Larry Shores appearance.

I tired to get Larry to the meeting of the deplorables Wink

Glad everyone decided to contribute the maximum and get in on the ground floor of Chelsea Clinton public political career. Cool

I spent the day running around and doing very little shopping.

I met with save safaris, tholo, acute angling, Larry shores walk around for a few aisles, drank with the ARPF deplorable, met the admiral but missed the whiskey box, saw blaser , Mauser and Sauer 404. Blaser is the cheapest. Saw Verney/ken Busch.

I will say trump has helped the shows - a few people told me bookings up and people bullish. Might be a little oil sector bounce but political change has made people more bullish.

Nothing in taxidermy land stood out but I need to look more closely.

The show is massive I need 4 days to look around. There is a ton of hunting and fishing stuff to see.

Karl thanks for the passes.

Aloft is great.

Larry thanks for the excellent dinner at nick and Sam's.

Overall dsc impresses me more and more every year. When I got in there were a bunch of kids - young teenagers attending the show as part of conservation effort. That was a great feeling to see youth at a hunting show.

I am sorry you did not get to enjoy some of Mike's "Trump" whiskey with us Larry. Maker's Mark is always good...but it was extra tasty on this occasion. Wink

Took me 4 hrs to get from dsc to dfw - 16 miles.

I am tired and worn out but headed home.

Great show as always.

Looks like I will be buying a blaser.

I need to spend more than 2 days at dsc.

Aloft was great.

Good meeting a lot of ar members. Looks like we have a reputation as problem makers Wink. I like that

I just met people randomly and was often told by an outfitter than this person is on ar too.

I did not go to the ar room - 2 days is just too little time for dsc.

My plan was to buy nothing.

Ended up purchasing a Smokin Tex electric smoker.

Also booked a fishing trip to Brazil with Acute. Will be there late January 2017.

Paid d the deposit on a fallow deer in Austria. My wife got a fur. I picked up the other Bell book that I thought I had already ordered. I ordered the bio by Bell by mistake. I got a Trader Keith canvans culling belt, a Trader Keith front sight protector made with lined leather, and two more books.

To round it off i got a box of A frames 570 grains to load.

It is amazing what one fur will get you.

I didn't go to DSC but still booked a hunt there, if that makes sense. I booked through Michelle Buchanan of Buchanan Hunts with Mayo Oldiri for a forest elephant hunt in Cameroon in 2018. I have been looking at this hunt for two or three years and the price they had was $1000 less than what they were selling it for last year at DSC. I plan on having Andy video it also.

Had the distinct pleasure to meet MJines at DSC. I had the impression he was 6' 5", 240 lbs of ripped steel and bites the heads off rattlesnakes and puff adders for fun.

What a great guy and please to talk to!!!

However, I did not get a beer.......

That is an awesome place. I had so much fun tracking eland. The bushman trackers were out of this world talented. That is my favorite place for a plainsgame only hunt.

Had a great time meeting people from AR, old friends from Zim and Moz plus new friends from around the world.
Heym, Verney Carron, Westley Richards, Boss, Rigby and Steve Barnett had a great selection of rifles to check out. A grade 3 looks interesting...
Some fantastic mounts to look over and leather goods to purchase from Trader Keith and Dick Murray.
Oh, and a special invite to Uganda...
Had a ball!!

I must confess the miniature Slim Jim's were a pain in the arse, takes about a dozen to make a snack. Next year, going with the footlong Slim Jim's. tu2

Buzz,

Spent most of the show in the booth next door, but if I'd have known you had free beer ...

Set out to finalize dates on Masailand for this year. Did that. Got my wife Courtney's for her first trip to Africa and some Boyt gaiters. While at the Boyt booth, she bought the most cliche "safari jacket" with all the pockets and shell loops, but she looks really cute in it.

Bought some books, Peter Flack's series on Spiral Horns -- it was a pleasure visiting with him, and Kimbaku by Harry Manners. And another McMillan sling, of course.
