Just got this picture in from the Addis Ababa office. Seems the client passed up this 34 inchMt. Nyala bull the first day of his hunt.
Interesting shot eh?

As it turned out he did the right thing because later in the hunt he took this one....

It's a bit over 40 inches and almost 11 inch bases. Probably at the bottom end of the top 5 or so.

ANders,

Now that I've added the second picture,,, well shocker

You can see he made the right choice. A 34" Mt. Nyala is definitely a keeper though and he might not have found a bigger one.

what a great trophy! I do not know if I could have turned down the first one though. If Jason had said shoot I would not have asked any questions.

Gosh, you can see the "feed" all around him. Laast year they weighed 2 right after they were shot (That's the only way the Mt. Nyala's would co-operate! Big Grin) They both were in the # 770's.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
