You might recall several years ago Erick and Donald Jr got into a flap about posting their safari pics on FB. They probably understand hunting and conservation better than any of our politicians.

Trump also made nice with the NRA and received their support in his campaign. Good vibes.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

I have a lot of confidence in Don and Eric Trump.

But ZERO confidence in SCI!

They have screwed up for far too long, and they need to start making real progress before I consider them relevant to anything to do with hunting!

USFWS needs to be brought under strict executive control.

They've gone rogue.

No competent CEO or COO can allow that to happen or continue unabated.

In the present case, we shall see.

Thanks for posting this Todd - we have hope, at least for now, that some of the insanity, like the elephant ivory import ban, will be reversed and folks will be put in place who actually know a bit about wildlife conservation and the consequences of the decisions they make.

Whoever is appointed Secretary of the Interior, needs to appoint an individual who will clean up USFWS. I believe it important to have someone that has the will to eliminate bureaucratic red tape. Base decisions on sound conservation practices and the best available science. Respect the findings from CITES, and not impose additional restrictions on imports from other countries. The meddling of a non-elected bureaucrat into the decisions of a foreign government's conservation and hunting practices IMO is abhorrent. Just as the US would never allow a foreign government to dictate what animals are allowed to be hunted and shipped we must respect other countries rights in this regard. We need to populate USFWS with conservation minded individuals who view the North American Wildlife Model of Conservation as the most sound basis for making decisions.

I wholeheartedly agree with the "Time will tell" sentiment as we've seen countless politicians promise change for the better, only to get into office and feed at the corruption trough.

However, this is the first time I can remember when we've had someone in a close advisory position to the POTUS that actually understands and is willing to publicly state, an understanding of how hunters' dollars contribute to wildlife and wild-lands sustainability.

The fact that Don, Jr. and his brother, are not just hunters, but hunters who have been to rural Africa and seen the Conservation Through Hunting model first hand, gives me hope that things may start turning in our favor. I especially like, from the second article I posted, Don, Jr.'s comment about needing someone in the position that has actual wildlife experience, possibly a western statesman, instead of the customary eastern bureaucrat with nothing more than an academia view of protectionism.

We will see!

Todd,

You do not have enough faith in your own countrymen.

We in Zambia celebrated hard when Trump was elected. Some fine Whiskeys were dusted off for the occasion and the party when on for a couple of days.

Just imagine the miserable scenario you chaps could have gotten into?

DONALD TRUMP & FAMILY
POST-INAUGURAL BASH
Thank You Hunters, Shooters and Fishermen!!!

12/16/2016 1:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

EXCLUSIVE

Donald Trump's family will be the main attraction at a fundraiser the day after the inauguration, celebrating hunters, shooters and fishermen who probably pushed Trump over the line in November.
TMZ obtained a draft of the invite for "Opening Day," a massive party that will be thrown at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in D.C.
The attire is "Camouflage & Cufflinks ... Jeans, boots and hats are welcome."
Now, here's what you get ... for a price.

-- BALD EAGLE PACKAGE ... a private reception for 16 guests to rub elbows with Donald J. Trump. The package includes a "multi-day hunting and/or fishing excursion for 4 guests with Donald Trump Jr. and/or Eric Trump." You also get 85 VIP guest tickets to the event. Price: $1 MILLION.

-- GRIZZLY BEAR PACKAGE ... private reception for 8 people to meet and greet Donald J. Trump. The hunting/fishing trip is also part of the package. It's a scaled-down version of the Bald Eagle Package. Price: $500,000.

There are other packages as well. As for the entertainment, Alabama and Toby Keith will perform.
Our sources say it's still not clear if President Trump will attend ... they're all working on the details, and if he's not there it could affect price. That said, the event is legit and the Trump family is behind it.
Our sources say "Opening Day" is being thrown to thank the hunting, shooting and fishing communities for their support. It's something mainstream media didn't cover, but Donald Trump Jr. and others spent a lot of time in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Iowa ... all states with a huge population of hunters, fishermen and gun enthusiasts.

Our Trump sources believe these people came out in force and made the difference in the election.
Proceeds will be distributed to conservation charities.

Purge USFWS by firing all the top heads, replace them with conservative hunters and New Era will begin
Until then, nothing will happen
PS Maybe just fire them all, that way there is no dissent
