Below are pictures of eyedoc's leopard and other animals as well as a note to loved ones reporting on the hunting. All are posted with his permission.

Dear Angela
All my love to you and all the kids. Things are going real well here. I am getting along great with my PH and his staff. I also enjoyed the company of the dog handler Glen, but he is gone now. He went home today because the leopard is in the salt and his part of the hunt is done.

The day after my leopard was shot I was able to shoot a steenbok, a warthog and a baboon. We spent today chasing mountain zebra all over the mountains but could not get a good shot opportunity. We may get a chance again later if I get done with the elephant in time.

We are spending the night at Karl's so we can get an early start toward the Caprivi where we will hunt elephant. This is why I have access to the computer. We will drive through Grootfontain, near Makalaan and then about 5 hours more. You all remember the drive to Makalaan, this will about be double. At least I am not making it just after that very long flight. I have my legs back under me now.

I will try to send a photo of some of the animals I have taken so far. Hope this gets through to you all. I will have access to computer for a little while so if any of you respond I may can reply.

Love to you all, Angela, Alisa , Neil, Todd, Kristin

Wes and Doug please keep our internet buddies aware of what is going on and let them know that there is no need to worry about my circumstances here because all is top end.

Wish you all could be here to share this experience with me.

Love to you all....mike

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Eyedoc and Karl were making their way back out of the Caprivi and at last report the quality elephant they were looking for had eluded them. Apparently he did get a cape buffalo this weekend but I have no pictures yet but eyedoc will be back around this weekend to give a report and more pictures...

Hello all- Thanks for all the kind words about the cat and the steenbok. I saw quite a few of those but as soon as I saw this one I knew he was the one I wanted. The leopard I took was the third one we ran in the first four days I was here. Let nobody tell you hunting with dogs is easy OR a sure thing. But Karl and Glen know their leopards.

We hunted hard for an elephant and just fell short on that goal. Karl moved us mid-hunt to another conservancy to try and get it done. We saw elephants and had a great time chasing them but did not see the trophy we were after.I will post a full report when I get home. I will say the Dr. Wes is correct in that we took a very fine old heavy bossed buffalo that was purely a bonus at the end of my hunt. We had seen one lost calf up until the second to last day when we had a herd of hundreds cross out of the park into our hunting area.

There is nothing wrong with Karl, Ndouma Safaris, his finances, his abilities or his business. I have been treated well, fed well, been catered to by a warm and accomodating staff. I would heartily recommend him to any potential clients.

Full report to follow with a photo of the buffalo as well.

Keep the wind in your face....mike
