For me, it has to be Limpopo or north west province if you want to hunt a number of pigs on one hunt.

I'm heading back again in a couple of weeks and trying to get out for a piggie cull. You can't ever have enough warthog hunting!!

On my list for my next hunt. I had an opportunity last month for a decent pig, but it would have involved disturbing a "loving moment" with missus pig and as a man I just don't have the heart...

Wink,

thats a great pig. I hunted a couple of days up near hoedspuit last month. There are some, huge pigs in the area. Perhaps not as many as further north but we still managed five shots in a day.

Warties rock.

Another vote for the Kafue--especially Royal Kafue (Andrew's area), Mushingashi, and Lunga Luswishi (right across the Kafue River from the other two). Both quantity and quality are unbelievable.

If that is "good" what is your definition of an excellent specimen?!

Go Dawgs,

Without question Coutada 9 is superb for warthogs. I've never seen that many pigs and big ones anywhere else.

Those are both old pigs in your pix but that last one is ancient. Looks very much like one I shot while in Coutada 9.

Thanks to all posters for all the lovely ideas or "suggestions" on possible poses for warthog trophy photos! Can't wait for next client [known here as "danik"] to shoot a nice one! It will be a long photo session.

One cannot cure:

Stupidity – nothing helps! Anti hunting sentiments – nothing helps! Put-‘n-Take Outfitters – money rules!

Andrew I find the best way to take any photo is to try and get the Horns / Tusks parallel to the camera lens.
With Warthog and Gemsbuck esp where the horns/tusks tend to lie backwards you need to take the photo with the same downward angle as the Horns/tusks lie backwards.
This tends to show the true length, also the side on shots or 45'Deg on shots also show length nicely.
Just take tons of photos from all angles with the sun behind you etc.
Photos are cheap in comparison to the cost of the Safari and they last the longest so I like to take decent photos of all the animals.
good luck
P.S I still owe you that beer Big Grin
