What would seem to be a rather simple method that would accurately give credit for spread, mass, and drop would be something like:

1) soft boss bulls ineligible;

2) measure the total width like Rowland & Ward, measure around the curve; add the two and divide by 2;

3) measure across each boss at the widest, around the curve, and add the three numbers.

I just shoot the ones I think are pretty, or really ugly. All of those in the picture above are more than pretty.
