One interesting statistic is what happens when agricultural practices become heavily modernized, more yield per acre and require less manpower. In America for example in many areas there are fewer people in rural areas compared to previous generations as farm employment has decreased and more people have migrated to cities in search of work. In Connecticut large parts of the state that were once agricultural have reverted back to woodland in the last century. In NY many, many areas where we hunt whitetail deer in the woods are peppered with old stone walls as it was all previously cleared for farming a couple of centuries ago.

Of course for something like that to happen in Africa or developing countries like India will take many generations, if ever.

A flip side of the migration to the cities is that many of those people become tree huggers and want nothing to do with guns or hunting.

Africa / Hunting in Africa, is sinking like the Titanic!!!! Do it now, do all of it you can now and don't regret a second of it! It's doomed, unless......

My hope/goal was to complete 50 DG safaris. I'll do #34 in July / Tanzania. 50, I think that's a bit of a pipe dream now - unfortunately!! Frankly I'm having more fun hunting sheep and other critters here in NA, without the hassle/worry of all that is African hunting.

We will spend a month in TZ on a project that is dear to my heart - we are creating what promises to be the most informative, yet exciting/entertaining documentary ever made on African Lion hunting and conservation.

After that, I can see my African hunting days dwindling considerably.
