He’s going to struggle to find a decent place to hunt. The Western Cape around Cape Town has a Mediterranean type climate and doesn’t support the variety of plains game the rest of South Africa does. Soringbok, eland, bontebok and some of the smaller animals occur here but other species don’t

I just got back from a hunt that included time in the Eastern Cape among other areas. In the Eastern Cape we shot vaal rhebok, oribi, blue duiker, bontebok and cape bushbuck. We shot springbok in the Karoo. I found the Eastern Cape to be a beautiful area. We were more east of Cape Town. I hunted with Charl Von Rooyen of Infinito Safaris. A wonderful host. Every animal we shot was outstanding, including the vallie which was pushing 11”.

Just tell your friend to go the extra mile and go to Easters Cape where there is a vast number of species and a huge number of operators. Victor Watson, (see above) is as good as any and better than most. He will get your friend everything he is after and really look after him.
