Jumping cactus comes to mind. Fire ants are old hat here in Texas. Chiggers aren't worse than pepper ticks, but...

tetse flies are God's worst invention. A swear they are a cross between a yellow jacket and misquito.

You need to speak of the tsetse fly with more reverence and veneration. If not for them, the whole of the Zambezi Valley would be over-run with cattle. Wink

I think Tsetses are God's greatest invention, personally, for the reasons mentioned.

I find them to be a minor annoyance, and Avon-Skin So Soft does keep a lot of them at bay. My hunting partner would yell and jump when bit, but showed no other reaction. I don't think they hurt that bad, but am allergic to them and get a quarter sized red welt at each bite.

By the end of a trip to the Valley, I look like a Wonder Bread sack from a hundred red blotches!!!
