Just got my Heym .500 Jeffery Express rifle back from Heym.
They took another look at it due to my problems with the Ammo from Kynamco/Kynoch. Alle the ammo was gagged and my duds where 3/10mm to short/ under minimum CIP standard
Well I do not trust the Kynamco ammo and I will shoot all of it at The Scandinavian AR big bore meeting.
Then only use reloaded from firefitted cases. That should work every time.

Cheers,

Andr

Thank you I did the oil finish myself. When the rifle came from Heym the stock was dry and rough.
It handles well and I love to shoot it. I just hope that it will not give me any more problems.

Cheers,

Andr,

Nice gun you have there, and I hope things work out with it now that you found the source of its problem.

What kind of oil did you use for the stock?

The recoil is acceptable Last time on the shooting range I shot 40 shots. I will try to break that record soon.
The rifle weighs in at 6.5 kg with scope and 4 shots in the mag and one in the chamber.
There is no funny stuff in the stock but the stock is BIG.
The balance is perfect.

Cheers,

Andr

Same thing here, I also plan to reload but I understand that the thickness of the walls of Kynanco cases is the cause of our problems, tell me if you can source better cases.

I also have cases from Wolfgfang Romey and they are in better shape the brass is of better make I think it is Horneber (German)
The Kynamco ammo also gives a sticky extraction when fired.
I have heard from Westley Richards that this is due to to hot loads. They are normaly surplied by Wolfgang Romey byt tryed some Kynamco and where not impresed

Do you drink the booze before or after shooting (ie the recoil)?

Erik
The brand is CCL Traditional English Gun Pruducts LTD
I use both The Conditioning oil and the Grain sealer. I mix 80% Conditionind oil with 20% Grain sealer.
Then you use sanding paper grain 500 and you work with the grains in the wood then yu leave the stock for 1 hour or more then take of all the oil with a dry cloth and go to grain 800 sanding paper etc. etc I end up with grain 1000 and then go to soft cloth.
It is alot of work but the result is nice.
The heyn only got a monkey shine, it is a working rifle with mate finish and should not look to fancy.

Cheers,

Andr
