Does anyone have any experience with Global Sporting Safaris? A friend has a quote for a 2-person hunt for Sable in the 41-43" range. I'm not familiar with outfitters in Zambia.

Global Sporting Safaris appears to be an agent. Who's the hunt outfitted by, and where in Zambia???

Nchila Wildlife Reserve, a fenced game farm in NW Zambia. Note the Sable offered maybe not yet be fully black and I saw a number of Sable taken here over the last couple of years that were still very brown. You do not get to choose your trophy the owner does.

There are a couple of farms around that are selling 45 inch for about $7,000 however the Sable has to be one of Africa's finest large antelope species and to hunt a solid black bull and one that is free range surely is worth investing in?

Kafue is the best area in the world for trophy Sable and consistently produces 45 inch plus. The new world record was broken here a couple of years ago and well exceeded 50 inches. The best of this season was 48.5 taken in a private unfenced block up against the Park.

Any black Sable bull over 40 inch is well worth taking a shot at.

Impressiv.
And a trophy from roaming free wild animals makes it much more valuable. I have to visit kafue one day.

Interesting that Dave Fulson's picture is forefront in the ad as Dave also represents Nchila or he said he was after he and Craig Boddington hunted there. That usually is not cricket in our business.

Good call Mark ! Yes I have hunted Nchila and the sable there are fantastic, as are the Fischers (owners). Pete probably loaned my pic to them so it is OK by me, but you are right about the impression. Not doing the homework, so to speak.

I have hunted at Nchila. It is easily the best of the 5 trips I have made to Africa. I did not take a sable as there were too many.

It is a ranch and the sable are the main "staple". Pete and Lynn Fisher are fine people. He makes no bones about the area and the hunt if you are after sable. He has a bunch of other species as well, which I hunted. It is fenced, as is Lemco and many other great places to hunt. It is well organized and professionally run. Pete knows what he is doing.

If you are an "inch" hunter, then his sable are the best you will see - I saw at least 25 larger than 45" and several at 50" or bigger. They are a strain and share genetics with the Giant Angolan Sable. He tracks the DNA and breeding. You will only get the one in your scope that he allows you to - that is the deal going in so be prepared. It is not negotiable.

The forest sitatunga, blue duiker, Angolan duiker, Kafue Lechwe, puku and reedbuck are fabulous.

I will post a hunt report in due time about my experience there as hunting was NOT the main priority during my trip there.

If you want details on this operation, contact me via PM or contact Dave Fulson as he had a great experience there as well.
