What a way to start the 2025 season with this beautiful Spotted Hyena. A Spotted Hyena was our hunter's dream animal for this trip. Having done the preparations for the hunt well before his arrival, this loner came in during daylight hours after only being in the blind for 15 minutes.

Limpopo is very green during March, which sometimes requires a plan B or C. As long as you don't run out of plans. Here is a very nice Tsessebe bull for our hunter. Tsessebe are not one of the common animals hunted, but they are a magnificent animal and should certainly be an option to those hunters running out of ideas.

Had this visitor while sitting on the Bushpig bait. Let us know at which stage you think is the correct time to take the shot.

Great Waterbuck bull recently spotted in one of our free range areas. Patience will be the key here. A good rain season ensured long grass for the early season, but soon enough this will retract for the Winter.

I like him right at the 0:42 mark, while he's stretching his neck out like that.

After sitting in the blind for a Honey Badger the previous night until around 00:30, we decided to take it a little bit slower the following morning. With two of the main targeted species in the salt, there was no need to push too hard and I'm sure our hunter appreciated this. This meant we had a slightly later start to the morning. The mid morning until lunchtime hunt did not produce much, but the afternoon was a lot more fruitful with this Copper Springbuck ram giving us the chance that we needed.

This was a big Bushpig boar that we successfully hunted. We are blessed to be surrounded by Cattle Farmers in our area, which means that there is constant action on our pig baits. Whenever there are livestock that don't survive, they all get thrown on the same bait pit which creates an environment where pigs know that there are always food. Creating value in the Bushpig, means the farmer gets something back for his loss. We believe in only targeting the boars.

Excuse the grainy photo, due to trying to zoom with the phone. Beautiful Kudu bull gave us enough time to get a quick pic. He was recently spotted in one of our free range areas. We are just waiting for the low fenced season to open on 1 June. Some great quality animals being seen around at the moment. The last couple of seasons' excellent rainfall, paired with great management of the areas makes us excited for the season ahead.

The afternoon paid dividends with more animals showing themselves than mid morning. As expected, deciding to take the very early morning off to recover from the previous night in the blind, we had already been successful on the Copper Springbuck. We managed to get our hunter onto this beautiful White Springbuck ram late in the afternoon. Since being a child while growing up hunting, I have always known there to be 4 color variants of Springbuck. The Common, Copper, Black and White and remember seeing White Springbuck herds on low fenced properties.

After a couple of tough days behind us, we managed to connect on this stunning Black Impala ram. It was cat and mouse for the morning, and after having some lunch and a quick lie down, we were out again. We followed a small bachelor herd for quite some time. This ram stepped out and gave us the time we needed in order to close the deal.

If ever there was a Dugga boy Mountain Reedbuck, this is it. Just something about old, past their prime animals that gets me excited. Worn down tips, massive secondary growth, this ram is what dreams are made of.

This is why you use premium bullets on Buffalo. They are cheaper than hospital bills.

I love those old bald-faced bushbucks!

I'm going to have to look into hunting one of those two horned rams with you since Ian and Vic only had one horned rams.

Certainly one of the more handsome animals in Africa, this great Nyala bull played cat and mouse with us among the trees. Without trying to give away our position too early, we had to make our move at the correct point in time or risk him disappearing. Heavy bases, big bell and long ivory tips.

Beautiful Common Reedbuck hunted with us recently. They are the champions of hide and seek. Early mornings and late afternoons get them moving before bedding down for most of the day. Patience is the name of the game.
