The biggest buffalo I have ever shot is 49 inches - with a broken horn.

And it was one of the easiest hunts I have ever had.

We were on the way to a leopard blind, when we saw him and another one while driving.

We jumped out of the truck, and shot both.

We drove to the leopard blind, and the truck went back to recover the buffalo.

That is how it happened, and that is how I reported it right from the beginning.

I have also followed a particular bull for days, and never managed to get a shot at him for several days.

That is what I call hunting.

Take it as it comes.

Unlike some of the so called "hunts" offered in South Africa, where a an individual comes with his shopping list, and a farmer provides him with it.

This is precisely what happened in this particular case - but of course some of you never want it to be known.

Andrew exposed those who have no business conducting real hunts.

They should stay with weekend meat collectors!

Some of you lot will never understand stating facts.

I suppose telling the truth is also foreign to some of you.

The guys that went on the hunt just posted a report saying that they went for the weekend and ended up shooting three buffalo! There was no misleading information!

You sir are just trying to spin stories because you are wrong!

For once I think it is time to man up and say you are wrong and stop with your bullshit!

So lets recap ... One IS on a "proper buffalo hunt" but while driving to the leopard blind, the leopard being an animal on the hunter's "LIST", one sees a couple of buff and jumps off the truck to shoot them. So the "proper buffalo hunt" now becomes just a "shoot" while checking off items from the "list" instead of the "proper buffalo hunt" he was on just a few minutes before. AND ... AND mind you, the hunter is now obligated to classify this "shoot" as a "shoot" instead of an event that occurred while "hunting" so that the masses don't get the wrong idea as to what is hunting and what is shooting?

This is just downright confusing!

Saeed, now tell the truth. Have you and Shootaway been hanging out together lately?

B) South African Big Game Hunting: For low brow African hunting

My guess is that South Africa is the destination for the majority of first-time African safaris. It was for me. It is peculiar how one forgets this after a few subsequent hunts in other African countries.

I do not see why this became a 7 page thread. Three guys went on a buffalo hunt, killed three cows and had a good time.

I was looking in the wildlife art forum.
I saw a thread someone posted about a particular artist I've never heard of. I opened it and clicked on the link and saw some talented work.

There were some positive posts.
There was one negative post.
Who was it? Andrew.
His one word post? "puke".

Then I noticed the thread he started in the art section where his son painted a picture of a lion. Andrew was praising that painting so much you'd think Da Vince painted it.
I won't slam his son's painting, but the glowing praise he heaped on his son while claiming a professional artist's quality work was "puke" is in similar fashion to what he did when he created this thread.

For Andrew, it seems, if he or his family wasn't part of it, it's puke. After seeing that thread, I presume that it is way obvious that Andrew is definitely overcompensating for something that has evidently been emotionally traumatizing him for many, many years.

It's sad. really sad. Grow up. you're not in 6th grade anymore.

I've been to RSA on two occasions and I enjoyed both hunts tremendously. I've also been on three - very enjoyable - "real deal" hunts in Zambia, Mozambique, and Tanzania; and, I found that the game animals acted essentially the same as they did in RSA. Moreover, the hunts and hunt techniques were identical.

To me, it's important that in RSA and Namibia the wildlife is increasing rapidly and has never been more abundant.

This is because of the game-ranch industry that caters to hunters in the two countries. In the non game-ranch dominated countries wildlife numbers are diminishing. In some of the latter sports hunting has been terminated.

The RSA/Namibia hunting/conservation model works very well, and we should be supportive of our RSA colleagues, not critical. 50 yrs from now RSA and Namibia may be the only places to hunt African species...that is, except in Texas, which is becoming Africa's Noah's Arc.

Don't know Da Vince, but Da Vinci could push paint somewhat. However, after just looking at the lion painting myself, it would be hard not to assume the making of an Old Master, exciting stuff.

I think that a lack of respect and self controle, played a huge role in this thread.
Instead of asking and getting all the ducks in a row, mr fair game ASSUMED it was a trophy
hunt and started an insult apon a fellow hunter and outfitter and when corrected with the facts
he continued.

I had a photo of a rhino we hunted legally stolen and put on the internet and Facebook it was hell I had 100s of hate mail, but if you say it was not and you actually wanted that on the internet for everyone to see then so be it... I would love to hunt with Andrew, but for the life of me, I don't understand why this video was posted on the internet. Why? It certainly doesn't reflect well on either Frostbit or Andrew, at least in my opinion.

Someone could easily think you guys went hunting in an inebriated state. Truthfully, I am not sure you were not based on this video.

This video is as inane as anything I have seen posted on YouTube.

Thank you for the congrats on the two Leopards. It was an amazing hunt that exceeded all expectation.

The "inebriated interview" video was taken by my wife who skillfully waited until we achieved a level of intoxication that allowed for some very funny statements. Andrew's "Jim would know better than I" in the beginning concerning what the mornings Lion call sounds like is classic Baldry quick wit.

We spent 23 days with the man after close to 18 months of emails planning the possibility of hunting a wild African Lion. In those 23 days that afternoon and evening was the only time either of us reached a level of slurred speech and on many nights were too tired to even have a sundowner.

We had killed a Lion face to face at 40 yards out of a group of four mature beasts. There was a very tense 20-25 minute side by side follow up into very thick pucker brush.

Simply put, there was call for celebration. All rifles were put away long before any booze got opened. We were responsible drunks is you will.

I'm not embarrassed by that video nor should Andrew be.

Andrew is opinionated. That's between he and you to figure out but I will say this. He's one of two PH's that we enjoyed spending time with enough to someday consider spending more time in Africa with.

The SA crowd might just be a little jealous of you hunting wild lions. Other than timbuvati I don't think there is little if any wild lion hunting in SA. The rest are chattle shoots sometimes (most often) sold as hunts.

That Video brought me out of the silent back ground of AR,

If the same standards are used to scrutinize this Lion hunt, I am afraid to say it falls into the Lion Shoot category.....

As for the Gentleman who started this 7 pager,,,,,

The SA crowd might just be a little jealous of you hunting wild lions. Other than timbuvati I don't think there is little if any wild lion hunting in SA. The rest are chattle shoots sometimes (most often) sold as hunts.

I might be part of the SA crown but I have Hunted, Shot and Culled enough wild lions not to get Jealous..........

And that's from North Africa right down , through Zambia to and including the Timbavati,,,,,

And no not SA Cattle killers......

There are many of us SA Crowd who actually do know a bit about Wild Lions,

And Buffalo Cows.........
