Some may have seen this photo before. It is a Chobe Bushbuck pick up from West Petauke GMA, across the river from Munyamadzi in the Luangwa valley. Not sure who this chap is but the operator/PH is AR's DVS who recently informed me that it was measured just shy of 23 inches.

I know DVS was in possession of another which I measured at 21 1/2 inches which used to decorate the camp at Munyamadzi.

The quality and quantity of Bushbuck in this region is phenomenal.

My rules. I am prepared to cheat. If that fails I'll cheat again. Seeing it's my rules, I decide when I win Big Grin

Nature painted this creature with vivid splashes of oranges and the odd flick of white and sienna. Decorative stripes and spots were brushed in to enhance the overall effect. An impressive mane and a set of perfectly matched spiral horns completed the pretty picture. The bushbuck make valued species such as Sable and Roan look positively mundane.

That would be the diminutive Kafue Bushbuck?

Munyamadzi produced exceptional trophies and there are a couple that I saw which were in the twenty inch plus margin.

Makes that 17 1/2 " one of mine look like a runt! What a monster! Now that is a bushbuck. Bushbuck is also one of the animals IMO that has to be done full body mount to do it justice. Beautiful animals.

Proper? More like throw the sticks in the air and jump up and down!!!

I am sure that Luan would be grinning ear to ear sneaking along a river bank with his SxS 45-70 knowing that quality of Bushbuck was in the area

Watch the impact!

This is the Bushbuck I took at Munyamadzi in 2011 with Andrew on the AR Group Hunt. We were looking for Waterbuck and came across this monster and Thor and I couldnt pass it up. Not as big as the photos Andrew posted but one I am proud of none the less.
