Today was Walter's day.

He started it off by having an accidental discharge with Don's bow. Last night he carried Don's rifle, and the action screws fell out! And while he was BBQing, he managed to break 3 camp chairs!

He was supposed to shoot a zebra today. He chased so many, shot at two and missed on both occasions, and threatened to shoot me if I opened my mouth! He is blaming his misses on my rifle. Remember the other day I had to pry it out of his hands.

Our other hunters have not come back yet.

We must have seen well over a thousand animals today. From buffalo, zebra, waterbuck, wildebeest, impala etc.

We continue the adventure of Walter and his zebra. That is what is left on our agenda, and he was told in no uncetian terms that he better get a zebra today or he will have to walk back to camp.

About 8 miles out camp we saw a herd of zebra, and Walter went with Roy and Alan to get one. Enrique and myself stayed at the truck.

About 45 minutes later we heard a shot. We were very happy to hear it. Another 45 minutes later we heard another shot! Long faces set in, as we knew Walter has csrewed up again! An other 30 minutes passed before we heard a third shot. Sheat panic! As Walter only had 3 rounds in the rifle!

A while later, Alan and Philip came over, and told us the good news that Walter has shot a zebra. And he has declared his hunt for this year as finally over.

We drove to where Walter was with Roy.

"Well done Walter, you got your zebra" I said.
"Your gun is useless! Your ammo is useless! And these friends of yours are useless!"
"Cheer up! They managed to get you to shoot a zebra. That is not an easy feat"

"I saw the zebra, and I got ready to shoot. Roy says 'take your time and make a good shot'. I aim carefully, then he says 'you better shoot quicjkly, the zebra is not going to stand there looking at you for ever. I forgot the safety on, so when I pressed the trigger nothing happened. Roy then says 'don't shoot if you are going to miss again!' I shot anyway."

"Well done Walter, you broke his leg. Now he is a "Walterable zebra" says Alan.

Apparently they chased the zebra, and Walter managed to miss him once, and kill him on his second try.

We took pictures and loaded him on the truck and headed home to have lunch.

After lunch Horst and Todd went to take photos by the river. Walter, Enrique and Dwight went to have a nap. Chris and myself sat in front of the camp taking photos and watching animals and birds that came around.

Don is still out hunting. Yesterday he chased buffalo for 7 hours. Saw glimpses of them, but, did not manage to get a shot at one. We hope he might has better luck today.

Tomorrow is going to be our last day here. In the afternoon we are having our usual shooting contest for the staff. It has become an annual event, and they look forward to it.

Someone with a deranged sense of humor suggestd that I bring the 577 T.Rex just for the contest!

Saeed, Glad you are having fun as usual.

Please have Allan let me know what time the charter will land at Lukula (LU5) with Don and Chris, so I know when to send the car to the strip. If I do not hear anything from him, then tell him I will have a car at the strip starting at 11am. Thanks

Great shooting (by you).

Sounds like Walter needs to look for game with handicapped parking stickers.

But then again, the man does know how to BBQ!

Don shot a buffalo yesterday with his rifle. He will try his bow on one on the next concession.

Both Don and Chris are out hunting, while the rest of us are relaxing at camp.

Walter has taken a giraffe hip-bone to his tent, God only knows what he is planning with it.

Adam, I have passed your message onto Alan, and we will be videoing all the contest this afternoon.

My next report might be from the Sea Cliff Hotel tomorrow if time permits.

Full report with lots of photos will be posted as soon as I can after my return home.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are at the Sea Cliff Hotel in Dar.

We've had 21 days of great hunts. Everyone had a memorable time. Meeting Chris and Don was a bonus for us all. We enjoyed their company, and they fit right in with the crazy gang.

They should be on their way this afternoon to their hunting area with Alan Vincent.

I have literally thousands of photos, and will have to make a selection as soon as I get home and post my report. As there is so much to show, I will split my report to several parts for the benefit of those of our friends who are not on broadband.

Saeed ----- I can't help but think about the Sea Cliff Hotel, one of the most beautiful Hotels I have ever stayed in, with Walter there. Please don't let him destroy a landmark that most hunters in Tanzania and the Selous cherish such fond memories of. Eeker Good shooting.
