As I understand the question, this has to do with carrying the "light" rifle while someone else totes the "heavy". If that is the query, read this: An Unintended Buffalo and you'll see (at least in DG country) why now I always carry the "heavy". You just never know. I honestly feel like I'd be pooping in a bag (or looking up at a lot of dirt) if I didn't have a .458 in my hands that day. JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

It can never be said that I am not willing to spill a little of my own blood in pursuit of game. Where better than in in Africa? Crawling to get in better position on a herd of Wildebeest, cut my leg on a sharp rock. Martin

Good for Jayne, besides, you need to maintain yourself to drag my buck out in November. ~Ann

Yes, and yes, carry them. Hey, that pack is heavy even when empty. It is physically challenged. ~Ann

I was glad to have my heavy rifle at hand this morning. I use a 425WR on this big Hyena.
