Urgent Call for US Hunters Taking Elephant in Tanzania and Zimbabwe in 2014

If you are a US hunter who took an elephant trophy in Tanzania earlier this year or had planned to hunt jumbo in Tanzania or Zimbabwe in 2014 or 2015, you are urged to contact John J. Jackson, III, of Conservation Force right away. Jackson can assist hunters seeking an import permit for a Tanzania trophy and will help you challenge the import suspension for an elephant taken in Zimbabwe. Here are the criteria of hunters Jackson would like to hear from:

Hunters who filed Tanzania elephant import permit applications that have been denied or are still pending for hunts taken or to be taken in Tanzania
Hunters who have gone elephant hunting in Tanzania in 2014 or plan to go in 2014 or 2015 and have not yet filed for import permits
And hunters who take elephant in Zimbabwe in 2014 and who are willing to import some small part or the entire trophy in order to challenge the suspension of such imports from Zimbabwe. Because there are no US import permits issued for Appendix II Zimbabwe elephants (unlike for Tanzania), the challenge must come through seizures at the time of import.
