Is the 376 Steyr Pro Hunter still available?

You certainly can still find them on gun auctions. Fine guns IMO. Honestly, I'd like to have one (of course there are plenty guns I would like, just like everyone else). I heard someone else was gonna pick up the import business into the US. Sorry, I don't know who.

CDNN Has them $599.00 Doyle "He must go -- go -- go away from here! On the other side the world he's overdue. 'Send your road is clear before you when the old Spring-fret comes o'er you, And the Red Gods call for you!" Rudyard Kipling - 1887 - The Feet Of The Young Men

If one wants a 375 rifle in a pushfeed action, there is no better one than the Steyr Mannlicher! The Pro Hunter model is a good platform as well! I collect Mannlicher Shoenauer rifles, which are CRF, but if I ever wanted a pushfeed in a chambering that was to be used for anything that bites back, it would be a toss up between the Steyr pro, and the Sauer 202 Magnum, both good, well made, rifles. ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith ![]()

In power it's really just a 375 Whelan, but it's a commercial cartridge, and is made in a nice rifle. I have a 375, a 338, a 9.3x62, a 35 Whelan, and a 405. I think th3 376 would make a hell of a neat hog gun!

I don't know what a 375 Whelan will do but I am getting 2695FPS average with factory Hornady 270 grain at 20 feet from the muzzle at 80 degrees (F). My rifle is a Serengeti built on a Montana Arms Barreled action with a 23 inch barrel.

Unless they recently got some more, CDNN has been out of the 376 prohunter for quite some time. Happiness is a warm gun

CDNN is showing the .376 Steyr ProHunter in their current catalog, but I didn't call to ask about availability. I still like my rifle, it is a lot of whomp in a smaller package. jim if you're too busy to hunt, you're too busy.

Did allright on a cape buff as well. It has become one of my favourites although one of the less expensive rifles I own. It is great for the really thick stuff and you can load it up or down according to your needs. It is really a shame they totally fubar'd the original marketing of such a fine round and weapon. Good things do come in small packages. Happiness is a warm gun
