There is no need to leave AR. Only one member (edited) has dragged you into that mess and no one takes it seriously. Everyone knows they are false and undeserved, so what's the problem?

Hell if you are worried about being insulted I have been called by the single individual / member of AR: a faggot, a homosexual, a paedaphile, a member of NAMBLA, and numerous other insults. Mostly unprovoked at least at the beginning. I think the key "provocation" was a post as simple as saying this guy had received "Issue no. 2 of a hunting magazine" !!!!!!!

In addition I have been bombarded with Spam since it all began, from a German language news site where a person can enter a recipient email address and also type in the sender email address. The "funny" thing is the perpetrator uses many of the member's emails here as false sending addresses. So it is obvious who is causing it. Some of the guys here might be interested in their names being used this way. Hey?

Also I have been legally slandered well before this bullshit ever started on this person's website. The same one you also post on and which this "Chuckwagon" was commenting on. I have never been a member there.

We also suspect this individual has been posting on very unsavoury websites in our names. I haven't the time or desire to go anywhere near those sites to see if it is the case.

So really what one other member has said about you pales into comparison compared to what has been said about me or done and also to another half-dozen mostly long serving AR members.

If I lived in Chicago I would certainly have taken up this individual's offer to meet up. And not for a "beer". No doubt about it.

I enjoy reading your news posts and find them informative so I also hope you stay and get over the insults thrown at you.

Saeed: Thank you for posting the relevant thread and clearing the issue up for me...and I thought the Political Forum was rough, nasty and brutish (or did I mean British?)...At least we know who the happy souls are on AR.

Kathi: Given the environment that the comments were made, I do no think you should take too great a personal offense to what was said...small nasty train wrecks sometimes hurt the innocent (in this case you), but you should not take it personally.

What you should worry about is getting back to Zimbabwe and helping the rest of us get there too.

If you come to Anchorage, we can go catch salmon (a least a couple different sepecies, depending on when you are here) and we can go look at whales and other stuff on the ocean. There are places where we could go look at brown bears too. These bears would be for looking at and not for shooting...unless Governor Murkouski changes some rules, which might happen.

Do no let that crazy thread hurt your feelings..too many angry people being mean, it is not heathly.

I find this entire matter irksome. Not just that Kathi is leaving ( I cannot blame her ) but the replies of some here.

A number of those who were involved in the "Carmelo" thread showed poor comportment and only fanned the flames for village idiots such as the one who made the remarks that drove Kathi of. Now some of these same members who didn't show maturity on the "Carmelo" thread are now exhibiting their duplicity in begging Kathi to stay.

Wow, that is the sadest thing I have ever seen a grown man write on this website. I truly thought the guys were all going at it in "fun", some sort of "guy humor" concerning the Carmelo thread. I have not read much of it as I don't come to A-R to read or participate that kind of crap. I come here to read about and talk about hunting, shooting, Africana and similar interests. I don't read each and every catagory here.

I certainly don't understand why you were attacked. I guess I don't blame you for leaving. The whole thing is wrong, way wrong and plain stupid. Has there been any difinitive proof of Carmelo commiting any crimes? If so, I have not seen it.

I will certainly continue to send my business on to you Kathi, as you have always provided a great service and done so in a professional manor.

A-R will lose a friend and a good way to see the world. I have noticed of late many mean spirited threads going on and on here. It seems to feed on itself and grow bigger and nastier with each one.

I think Saeed said it best on page one of this thread. I am sorry to see you go and hope you can reconsider as well. You have been an asset to these forums and to myself and many people here as well.

Not that I know what this is all about. The funny thing is that you Americans (I´m sometimes ashamed to use "we" Americans and that´s when a dual citizenship comes in handy) are so big on First Amendment rights but at the same time always ready to censor someone that actually uses it.

I can't blame her at all. Her news posts have always had excellent content. Furthermore I have spoken to her in person and have actually had her book flights to Africa for my group - she's one of the "legit" folks on this forum. She doesn't have to take this BS.

The "sinister" side of the internet has yet again reared its ugly head.

Most of the "regulars" on this forum have the sense to know the cardinal "rule of engagement": When posting on a forum and addressing a specific individual, speak (type) as if you are talking directly to that person. For those that don't, figure it out and shape-up!

Please reconsider leaving AR. I rarely post, because I do not have enough knowledge or experience. I love your insight about Africa and hunting. It is extremely different than the "mens" posts. If it wasn't for you; I probably never consider taking my wife, a non-hunter, with me when I have a chance to go to Africa.

Don't let a person of no character or honor drive you away. I beleive your perspectives and opinions are irreplaceable.

I want to thank you for providing us all the gift of Accurate Reloading! AR is a fantasic resource and I have made several new friends here and that has been an additional benefit not expected. However, at some point you may wish to reconsider allowing members to continually post personal attacks that are total rubbish!

When I had difficulty finding a ticket to Tanzania this year, Kati went out of her way to find one! She has been extremely helpful to members of this site. I hope Kati reconsiders.

At what point does a post on AR go beyond acceptable behavior...I think ChuckWagon has reach the limit and the personal attacks related to the Carmelo thread are overboard in my opinion!

We all like and enjoy your posts, you bring a wealth of information to the site with your posts and knowlage of travel and much more. Please reconsider and take the comments with a Grain of Salt and consider the source. You no doubt have the support of the members.

Take a day or two and think about it, you may change your mind once you see the support you have.

The best response to those who use this, and other, forums as vehicles to insult, harass and defame others is to ignore them. Their actions stem from their own shortcomings not anything that you may have done. They try to pull others down in the mistaken belief that that will make them look tall. They do not understand that one stands tall only when you pull some one up, not when you pull them down.
Your input has been almost as valuable as your friendship. Depriving the rest of us from them will hurt only those who care about you. Ignore the fools and they will eventually go away.
