Lets see,
About $40 for an M98 dropbox full of Rigby Rounds, plus another $120 for the remainder of the box. dont sound unreasonable, When you consider the cost of taking Ele,Hipp,Buff,Lion.
If I was taking that group it would be nothing other than with a Mauser 416Rigby. or High grade classic chambered double.

Must remember, it is common for the poor to often overate money for they rarely get to taste alarge sum, and it is common for the rich to undervalue it cause of its sheer abundance.

If the cost of ownership of a Rigby or the like is considered snobbery by some,so be it.We can gladly live with that stigma Big Grin without quarm. Being wealthy is not a sin, and no one can make you feel inferior without your concent.

I agree with Jorge.

The appeal of the Rigby is low pressure, good ballistics, and not horrible recoil.

The far better round for the average person is the 458 Lott. Cheaper rifles, cheaper rounds, more competing companies, way cheaper brass, and, a more reasonable action, not to mention, yes, it does recoil a bit more, but 2300 fps with a 500 grain bullet puts the Lott WAY cheaper, yet in another category on game.

Load it down for practice, and up for serious game.

Much as I like the concept of the 416 Rigby, it's just not an economic success, unless it's a safe queen, or you reload.

Also, except for Christer, I don't know many people who can shoot 20 rounds a session of 375, much less 416.
