Wow, you will need to keep an eye on this as that is a big drop recently ..

How the hell are the locals able to count all the notes as I belive the biggest official banknote is only ZWD 500

Keep taking the tablets (-:

Yeah, but what is the black market rate? 1 USD = 110,000 Zimbucks? More?

But remember, where there is hardship, there is also opportunity. You just have to know how to make the most of it.

The Bank Credit rate at the end of September when I was there was roughly 1 USD = 25,000 ZWD

That's a huge drop in about a month.

Black Market rate at that time was as high as 75,000.

Balla Balla,

The government issues Bearer Notes in 20,000.00 Zim denominations. They are printed on old 50.00 Zim notes and have an expiration date that is widely ignored. Even at that, it is an impressive sight to see all the cash laid out to buy dinner or a pair of Courtneys.

The official exchange rate is 60,000:1, but if you want to buy from the banks they charge an additional Z$30,000 "finders fee" and then 3% commission. Black market rate has been stable for three weeks at 90,000:1
