Mac, just think of it like getting an old, shot-out 30-06 barrel re-bored. No big deal, and good luck.

Mac Good Luck with the surgery. I am sure you will be giving great advise soon.

Be sure to listen to Mohan. I know this guy and he is a very smart guy. He actually saved my friends fathers life just today.
He had great advise for a guy who was not looking good.

Mo, You are the man. I am sure you wont be buying drinks in Dallas this year.

Thanks

Good luck Mac. It's low risk surgery and you ll do fine. Just remember to take you aspirins and also plavixs if they prescribe it. Thanks again on the advice on opening up my bolt for another round. Worked great in Zim. Look forward to your further inputs.

Had precisely the same one done with the same 98% blockage over 5 years ago and was out of hospital in 3 days. You might say no recovery time at all after the incision healed. They have done an ultra sound yearly since and there has been absolutely no recurrence. The only thing that made me the least nervous was when they placed the electrodes on my scalp and did the brain scan. The person doing it told me they would monitor it constantly during the surgery so there would be NO starvation on blood to the brain on either side. Now if you wan a scary operation, I had an abdominal aortic anuersym or Triple A as they call it several years later. Now that is a surgery. They did a conventional repair not a stent. Don't sweat it. As they say 'a piece of cake'.

I just got off the phone with Mac. Considering what he had done today, he sounded great! He said he was sitting up and surrounded by his family! He said everything went well and he assured me he would be back on AR as soon as he feels better.

Damn good news!
