Does anyone know how to reach the folks at African Hunter Magazine? I renewed my subscription and bought a book off their website... Paypal payment was made, but I haven't gotten any sort of order confirmation from them. I've emailed the email addresses I have for them, but haven't received any responses. They've always been very prompt in responding to communication so I find this odd. Confused

Thanks Shakari... I've tried a few emails to that address over the last couple weeks. Responses to past queries have always been in a very timely manner, so I figured I'd post here to see if anyone knew something I don't. I enjoy their publication, but I suppose I'll have to dispute the charge and try to get my money back if I don't hear something back soon.

Oh, great. I just subscribed last week and haven't heard anything from them either. If you get any feedback from them, please post it here. I'll try to contact them as well.

It's more likely that there's a problem with their email or phone lines..... I'd suggest you keep trying.

Alternatively, send me your contact details by email or PM and I'll try to pass it onto them from here for you.

I sent an email to them earlier this week and haven't received a response either.

Sounds like their email is down then.... I'd suggest you give 'em a week or two and try again.

I'll give it more time. Just was getting concerned as it's already been more than two weeks. Thanks.

The office email and internet got trashed by a lightning strike a couple of weeks back and there have been a few ongoing glitches.- sugest yu resend any mail and put a read reciept on it so you know it has been recieved.

Ira was in the office today but using his gmail rather than the office one so there may still be issues.

Hi Guys

Opus72, thanks for your patience. I have replied to your PM.

Sorry for our absence and apparent silence. We have indeed had a gremlin in the works for the last couple of weeks, which seemed to be gobbling up our outgoing mails. This only became apparent mid last week, and the tech has been here since trying to restore our system. It does seem to be working this fine Monday morning, and Jacqui and the crew are re-sending the last couple of weeks of mails.

Our Internet is awfully slow too at present, but this I gather is due to the nationwide power outages we are suffering thanks to some “maintenance”! Power cuts have been really bad in the last few weeks, and I suspect it was this which fried our system here.

I have been trying to post this message for the last five hours, so hopefully it will work.

Until I am sure our system is fully restored, I am going across town to use someone else’s Internet connection, so will be checking for Pms. Please feel free to contact me through AR should you need any assistance.

Steve, thanks for your coms to Jacqui and the guys on AR.

Wishing you all a fantastic day.

Ant Williams

Thanks, Ant. Received email from jacqui this morning. My order is in a bit of disarray, but the folks in the office are working on getting everything in order.

I enjoy your magazine... Keep up the good work!

Email communication with Zimbabwe has been sporadic and difficult (more so than usual) for the past few months.

Having said that, subscriptions to the African Hunter - formerly Zimbabwe Hunter - has always been a hit or miss proposition for U.S. subscribers. I like Ant Williams and it's a good magazine but I gave up on it many years ago because they simply cannot deliver the issues to U.S. subscribers with any acceptable degree of consistency. Nothing has changed in that regard. So if you're gonna pay your money, understand that you are not gonna receive all the issues.

I had heard complaints about the hit or miss factor before I subscribed. Maybe I was lucky, but I've received all my issues.

There is an option available now if you're worried about one not showing up in the mail and its significantly less expensive that the print magazine. They have an online E-Mag subscription available for I think $35/year, and they have a couple years worth of issues available online.

Personally, I like the hard copy to leave laying around the coffee table and trophy room to browse through when the urge strikes.
