By the nature of the show things are higher priced..You could however buy one in town at cabellas or wherever at regular price and maybe on sale..

Comeon George don't go cheep ass over a rifle cover that will be used to protect a valuable rifle like a double or a Martini!
Have a look at Galco's canvas travel slip and just sort it out.

It is for my 308 Palma barrel rifle. It needs a case at least 50 inches long and the shotgun cases fit it just perfect.I saw the Boyt cases at the show and they were excellent quality. They had an extremely nice model that sold for 30 bucks less than what it sells for on line.I regret not buying it even after thinking about it for the whole time.I also liked a small Boyt bag they had at special price and those were selling like hot cakes.I did buy a Boyt quality fleece shooting and hunting vest for just 79 bucks. It would have cost me double or more if I bought it online.I was really impressed with Boyts-quality and price.

That says it! Good God, I don't believe this. Shootaway, I live 20 kilometers outside of a tiny little town with one grocery store, one gas station, and one hardware store. If I needed a $40 soft guncase, I'd buy one there, have it home the same day, and get on with life.

You live in Montreal, with lots of major retailers nearby who sell this stuff in a huge variety...you have access to a thriving internet marketplace within Canada that will ship this to you (although why you would bother going to that extreme is a wonder...) and yet you are droning on about buying in the U.S. while in Dallas and then schlepping it home with you? Then you order this item from an American seller and are actually surprised to find that they can't deliver it to you...in Canada...for 8 bucks???? There's even an online Canadian buy-and-sell for gun-related stuff (the EE on CGN) where you could find this item for a ridiculously low price, and you would even get a chance to haggle with the seller, whoever the poor devil is...

It's an inexpensive nylon gun case...not a Ferrari or a private jet. Roll Eyes

If someone looks around they can get really good value for their money.A 52 inch Boyt plantation shotgun case was going for 79 dollars at the show. That would cost me 109 on line plus 40 dollars shipping not including custom brokerage fees.I have seen some nice elephant skin DR cases selling for 300.I saw one at the show that was too stiff for my taste and was selling for 1500.I don't need a DR case but was just saying.

I regret not buying it.If I had a small luggage bag with me instead of a small carry on then maybe I would have.I did not want to carry it in my hands.

Those Palma barrels can get very hot.I should take a picture of the cheap soft case that ripped and came apart. At least I saw and examined the Boyt cases and now know that they are good and which model will do.That is worth something alone.Right now as I type I am wearing my Boyt vest. Smiler

Why blame it all on George? Maybe the fact that a lot of you kept commenting had a little something to do with dragging it on? Just saying. Roll Eyes

George- I had a soft case made from the hide of one of the buffalo I shot. Won't do you any good right now but you should think about it as they are durable and tough. Also pretty cool.

George probably has some COW hide left over. Would be perfect for him. He could show it to anyone willing to listen to him brag about how he "brought back meat for the camp" on his own after his PH failed to put him on a bull first stalk of the safari.

Pegleg,

that sounds like a good idea but I have too much stuff as it stands.I also have a lot of ele skin and two ele skin DR cases.I needed a case for my target rifle as soon as possible because I was bringing two long rifles to the range and only had one case long enough. The second was carried in an open zippered case while I walked on the icy ground...
