How ? How did you do this?

I can not get over the increase in sharpness on the faces.
What feature, application, can do that?
Can yo give some short cuts?

Great work

Dave...

First of all WELCOME to the AR FORUM, it's a wonderful place... thumb

Thank you for the comments I appreciate it! beer

I started this thread to find out if folks here could use my SERVICES as a side-business...it wasn't started to be a "HOW to GUIDE"... Frowner I hope you understand... Wink

BUT to answer your question I would recommend buying books that pertain to your editing software as that will give you some understanding of the whole ordeal...One poster mentioned earlier you can read authors like Scott Kelby for an entire year and not scratch the surface. It takes time to learn and get familiar with the tools and myriad of techniques!

I approach my work more as an ARTIST rather than one who is TECHNICAL...Both have their merits and usually appeal to most in some form or fashion.

I am an artist and photographer and hunter so I approach post-processing/digital enhancements according to my personal style...Some folks may appreciate it and some folks may not...it's just the way it is... Smiler

Technical images have their place in my repetoire, however, I personally choose to process my images with my artistic-style then BALANCE and BLEND things harmoniously together in the end product!

I can't teach what I do because it comes so naturally...In fact I don't follow a basic WORKFLOW as most use...because I approach things differently than many who do post-processing I would be amiss to even TRY to EXPLAIN how I do things!

The main thing I can tell you is to know and become very familar with the tools in your editing software...REALLY FAMILAR...This would be the biggest key IMHO...THE TOOLS..what they do and when to use them...It can be really TRICKY for the first few years and downright FRUSTRATING!!!

I'm just reapiong the benefits after several INTENSE years of deciding I'll just never give up!

Now I have a pretty good command and idea of what tools I like to use and when and how to use them!!!

You must learn the tools and practice, practice, practice...I promise you will go through MAJOR frustration and will want to give up...And you just may...But if it's your PASSION you will come back to it in a couple months and try again!!!

And by the way...There's really not many short-cuts....LOL

You just learn and adapt the tools to your style and one day you'll just become quicker at doing things like anything else!

As a carpenter we all have access to the same materials and tools, what separates one carpenter from another is his VISION and his MASTERY over his TOOLS...That's all it is!

We all have to start somewhere... so please...NEVER give up!

Believe me we are all learning new things all the time!

As an example in photoshop I have only 12 tools in my bag though there might be 100.

But those twelve tools I use in combinations that are innumerable...So especially if you are going to approach a piece from an artistic view, you must have a VISON for the piece...Start with that VISION and slowly and methodically create what you see...that's all it is with my approach...

Lots of advanced folks would tell me I do things backwards if they were to watch me process this images...LOL

And they may be right from what's ORTHODOX, but as an ARTIST I'm the last thing from the NORM...hehehe

HOWEVER, I know my TOOLS and I know how I like to use them and when!

That's just me!

That's why I recommend buying several books as it will give you lots of great info from the gurus.

I do not consider myself a guru as I'm the furthest thing from it! But, I just work with the tools that I like and create stuff that I hope people would find PLEASUREABLE to view!

MY MAGIC that so many people have commented in post here and via PM's is not a TRICK I know, but rather the love and passion I have for my craft and trying to make people enjoy their piece..And in this particular venue...Their most precious TROPHY SHOTS!

I hope you understand...I tried my best to articulate my thoughts the best I could so that you will pursue digital-enhancements if it truly is your PASSION... beer

And btw Dave...MOST people use SMART SHARPEN...That's what I recommend to folks!

Personally, I use a combination of several tools and techniques...it all depends on what my VISION for the image is...The approach I take depends on what tool(s) come out of the bag and especially when...That's all I can say Dave...I hope you understand... thumb

God Bless you brother!

Aloha!

Ro

Wow Roland, nice and clear Wink Thank you for selecting and touching up this foto for me, and if you have one even better that's great! I'm glad you really enjoy this work, I took the photo with a pocket digital Canon SD1000 and it was straight from the camera. Very nice, and I'm sure the folks who sent in photos are very appreciative, thanks again and Waidmannsdank, Dom.
