Time has actually gone quite quickly over the last year since I booked with Andrew. Originally this cat hunt was going to occur in the Luangwa at Munyamadzi but now will take place at Andrew's "new" area in the Kafue.

You all have been through the process of booking a hunt. I'm a detail oriented guy (sic: - anal) so researching an area, outfitter, and expectations are much like a hunt itself for me. Stalking the information so to speak as well as shaking out any chaff.

With the change of venue this booking has been very interesting yet if the clock could be turned back I would make no changes to the final decision.

Now the clock will drag......

Went to the range with Joyce on Sunday.

My .416 Rigby using 400 grain TSX managed to obliterate a 1 inch orange dot at 100 yards with three shots. All with a 1.25 - 4 power on 4. Better shooting than my eyes should allow.

My .375 remains my tack driving best friend and will be the go to rifle for most of the game.

My wife's Ruger tang safety 7 x 57 loves the 165 grain bullets and she was consistantly below 1 inch off the bench and averaging 2 1/2 inch off of sticks at 100 yards. She's headed to gunsite Academy and meeting up with our own D Nelson for a few days of 2:1 tutorage on the walking Safari Course there.

Man, these three months are going to drag. dancing

Jim,

That's a wondeful idea for Joyce. We probably all should take that course.

I agree Mark. I wish I had the time to do it as well. Joyce has always shot well but I think the practical crawling, stalking, different shooting positions that are emphasized there will be helpful for her confidence.

Of course Darin Nelson keeps teasing that Joyce will end up shooting the Lion on me. Eeker

thirty-nine days and seven hours to liftoff...

OR Tambo is going to look pretty good about 7pm on April 30th. Off to Luxus to stock up on good Cuban Cigars and a bottle of really good Gin. It just is NOT a proper plains game safari without a couple gin&tonics and a Cohiba in the evening as you watch good steaks on an ironwood fired grill.

It just isn't...

20 weeks for me!!
The reports from the bush like yesterday (Butch shot a 43" buff)are not helping at all.

I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.
