Gotcha! Wink

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

I think it's ok to shoot out of a tree if right side up, but NEVER upside down.

Wait, are we talking about a Cedar Tree or Oak Tree? That will certainly make a difference! Cool

Man, I'm partial to pine trees. I think all other trees should be illegal to hunt. Yes, I mean the tree!!

No, as my pith helmet will fall off, and my non-CRF rifle will not feed upside-down.

Shooting upside-down is acceptable ONLY when the tree is situated next to a water-hole. The water-hole must be natural in origin.

If the water-hole is man-made, shooting must be done from a man-made elevated tripod stand (no four-legged stands allowed) and may be undertaken from an angle of no more than 90 degrees from vertical. True upside-down shooting is only permissible under these circumstances if the hunter is using a non-CRF rifle and factory ammo (no handloads) loaded with bonded-core bullets (no mono-metals). No sunday shooting is permissible.

Now we move on to the question of archery from a hot-air balloon...

Okay, granted, it is or is not illegal in Alabama and potantially unethical if near a man made water hole in other than pine trees. But what calibre is best?

Is it charging from the north or south side of the tree? It just would not seem sporting to use the same caliber on a south charging animal as to one coming from the north.

It's really going to depend on if you're in the northern or southern hemisphere. If you're in the northern hemisphere, you should check your local game laws to see if this activity is legal. If you're in the southern hemisphere, why then you're not upside-down after all and don't need to worry about it!

What if it's chui, and he's in the tree, too? I think the rules might be relaxed a bit if that were the case.

But if you do so in the Southern hemisphere, when you get home, all the pics look like you were right side up.

Hence, no Lacey Act violation.
