Amazing difference in the fine details!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Thanks all... tu2

IMHO this TROPHY SHOT had all the makings of a strong, bold image and just wanted to bring forth what I personally saw.

I'm very happy with what I was able to achieve as I tried to gently massage all the data I could out of the small original image file that Larry posted.

Roland,

Wow! That is a remarkable improvement. When you figure out how to give Larry more hair I'm interested also.

Sure I don't mind sharing Wink

I use PS CS4 but one can accomplish much of this with almost any digital-enhancement software or any version of PS including Elements.

Here's an easy, simple, BASIC WORKFLOW...

#1- Shadow/Highlight Adjustment as desired
#2- Brightness/Contrast Adjustment as desired
#3- Saturation Adjustment as desired

After, steps #1-#3...

Create a NEW DUPLICATE LAYER and a LAYER MASK to "isolate" subject.

Apply Noise-Reduction and/or Gaussian Blur to this Background Layer as desired.

Now, go back to the layer below it where you did steps #1-#3 and Sharpen that layer. [Sharpening now will only take place on the SUBJECT not the BG because of the Layer Mask]

When done flatten/merge the image and you are done.
