has anyone besides me noticed that different outfitters in the same country charge different amounts for the government hunting license? maybe the government fees vary from province/ area to province/area but i know i have seen varying charges applied in the same province. same thing with fees charged for gun import permits- which should be a flat rate countrywide. just curious. JD, we have 9 different provinces and effectively 9 different ordinances, some of which are pretty similar. The licence fees differ vastly. eg a KZN licence which allows you to shoot guineafowl in season costs about $1.50, while the same licence in the Free State is over $10. Gun import facilitation is a service. It costs nothing from the government. But several companies are making a living out of processing and arranging the documentation, and meeting and greeting visiting hunters, and charge what they believe their time and effort is worth. Hope this helps. I for one, would just like RSA to come up with a unified regulation for licensing a PH rather than the current registered by Province reg....I would hope the PHASA would support such a regulation. | |||
