If you ever wondered what it might be like to be hooked by a buff...this might provide a little indication of what can happen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. Lane Easter, DVM A born Texan has instilled in his system a mind-set of no retreat or no surrender. I wish everyone the world over had the dominating spirit that motivates Texans.– Billy Clayton, Speaker of the Texas House No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born in Texas.— Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Texas in May, 1991.

About thirty-seven years ago I got talked into doing that. There are some seriously anti-social Miura bulls in every group. They had some nutcase french guy killed that year. Trampled at the end of the run when the bulls saw the open gate into the corrida. It's a sight to see, that is for sure. Rich

Rich, bulls of a different breeder run each day and the Miuras are but one of several. I'll grant you they are fearsome indeed. I witnessed a similar goring in 1991 by a bull named "Entrometido" on a Swedish kid named Torly Urban, though the horn entered in the hamstring area and came out above the knee. I've made the run several times down Estafeta into the ring and hope to be able to do it with my son someday.

Once was enough for me, no need to get greedy eh? Besides I started out a month earlier with the idea of picking grapes working my east to Germany, and several very attractive French girls (all of whom shaved their legs and underarms and bathed most nights) would likely have pined away had I been incapacitated that summer... I always said that I would love to see one of those prissy little Matadors get in the ring with a Cape Buffalo! Imagine the outcome of that one.

Rich: The supply of women in Europe 37 years ago who shaved their legs AND underarms, AND bathed regularly, would have ended at the German border. 114-R10David
