Depends on the terrain. If there is saw grass, thorns or buffalo beans then trousers. Shorts for open country and softer type grasses.

I bring zip off leg hiking pants. I usually start out with long pants and remove the legs after lunch. The best of both worlds.

Loin cloth only for me!

I use light weight synthetic pants that are treated with insect shield.

Considering where one hunts and for the most part the Tetsy, mosques, ticks and seed ticks are plentiful so I suggest pants and taped at the ankle...Only the indigenous and PHs are immune and wear shorts and go barefooted!

Shorts, always.
