Anyone know what the show timing is on Sportman's Channel? I can't find it using the search on my cable hookup and when I search the Sportsman Channel online they only show the old Trijicon name but no listing for the new name.

I thought it was supposed to start up the last week of June but I can't find it on the schedule anywhere.

Dave?, Aaron?, Anyone more technically savvy than me?

It'll be like Dark and Dangerous
No number on episode and they will all have one date on them
I loved Dark and Dangerous but quit watching not ever knowing which episode it is
Seems the same with Sports Afield show
Sad, but understandable when it comes to marketing
Just not for me that way, downright BS if you ask me
Oh well...

Just so your finally 'in the know' I personally, and painstakingly provide the networks with episode titles and brief descriptions on show content. Dark and Dangerous is more problematic due to the multiple hunt nature of that series as they allow so little space to describe the content. The network gets lax on doing it sometimes, but it is ALWAYS provided. No marketing ploy or intended BS on our end.

Dave:

When does this show start?

I understand what Boarkiller is saying. On our local cable network, every D&D show has the EXACT same description. If they had something as simple as an episode number, it would make it easier on viewers.

For me personally, the problem is magnified. For reasons unknown to me the "settings" do not work on the hunting channels. I come home and at times see 5-6 episodes of D&D recorded. Without looking at each briefly, you cannot tell which show is which.

I realize this is not a Safari Classics issue. Regardless, it is a pain the ass.

I love all of those shows. You all do a great job.

Same here.

Joyce and I always watch them together and she was back east for a long time with her failing Mother. When she came back we had about 12 episodes recorded and in reality it was 4 shows.

We just would start each one and then delete it when the first sentence was the same.

What ever you do Dave don't have the same first sentence on different shows. Big Grin

Do you know what date in July the Sport's Afield show starts?

Frostbit, July 5 is the first Sat airing. As far as recording programs, I also program my DVR to record a show, and if it airs three times weekly like ours do, it records all three of the same episodes. I am not any kind of TV recording expert, Heather sets it up in most cases, but I know it is frustrating. But it is so easy to delete the repeated episodes, I don't get in a twist over it. Look it beats watching non stop soccer action..RIGHT? Thanks for your interest guys. Think you will really enjoy the new Sports Afield shows. Tim assures me you can set to record a multi episode once only, but in case, like me, you have not figured out how to do that just delete the repeats. Cheers.

What is also a pain in the ass, is when a show's major sponsor changes, which means that a DVR programmed to record a show's previous season will not pick up the start of a new season due to the title change. Dave, if you read this, it might help if you post to AR the season start dates for all your programs whenever the title changes in any way. Not trying to cause trouble, I just hate to miss the start of a new season of any Safari Classics production!
Cheers

Man, all of this is more difficult than producing the show itself!!!

Regardless, I hope you guys will all tune in. I watched 4 of the episodes just today, all were very good. The first 4 episodes are Sonora Desert Bighorn, Sapi Elephant with Len Taylor, New Zealand Tahr/Red Stag, and Lord Derby Eland. We also have Australian buffalo with Matt Graham, Lion/Buffalo in Mozambique, the grand slam of Spanish Ibex, Dall Sheep, and more. It should be an excellent season.

What about scenes where hunters are waiting in baggage claim? Those are so exciting I start to hyperventilate and need to grab a brown paper bag.

That's right.
Where is the hidden camera. 007 had it in sixties...
How about some Romania Red deer hunts, Russian boar hunts in the wild and maybe European griz?
Hate to say it, but I put hot babe shooting pronghorn in same category with derby Eland, tahr, chamois, impala ... you name it.
Watch it once or twice and I'm done.
I'd like to see more exotic and not very known hunts.
Spice it up guys.

Matt,

DVR stands for Digital Video Recorder - I wish you guys down under would join the modern world soon!

It is the 21st century you know rotflmo

For those who have a sat receiver without a built in DVR, I recommended the Hauppauge as below.

DVR

I have one connected to one of our sat receivers, and it continuously records National Geographic episodes.

I love those, but never have the time to wat5ch them when they are aired.

So I record them, and then remove the adverts and the repeats.

I love watching them on the plane when travelling on my computer.
