it's getting crazy out there.

I bought a DPMS heavy barrel 308W about three years ago. Paid $1250 for it. Saturday a guy paid me $2600 for the rifle and five extra MagPul Mags for it. Yes, cash...

Even after the election, I could have had a case of PMags for $1000. Today, that case would be worth $5000.......

Ty get a life no one forced the buyer to pay that kind of money.

There a sucker born every day and a fool and his money are soon parted.

If some one offers to sell you a gun at half of what it is worth do you pay him double for it.

It wasn't your gun and wasn't your money

It is always smart to sell when the marget is high.

Same with gold, cars, stocks or any other thing you have for sale.

So if you brought a 1oz bar of gold 20 years ago and it is selling at 5 times what you payed for it you would sell it for what you payed for it 20 years ago. I don't think so.

Supply and demand is an economic reflection of freedom to choose.

Or do you want something else? To say that you have been "gouged" is to say you are ambivalent about something you purchased. Missed buying opportunities are part of life in a free society, as are missed selling opportunities. Why take the seller to task?

Parenthetically, I have a crapload of mags and ammo, could sell 20% to capitalize all of it. But I have chosen not to do so for reasons having nothing to do with a desire not to "gouge" anyone.

Prior to the Ct incident there were scads of ads on GB with pie-in-the-sky prices asked. Items just weren't selling. What saddens me is that these suddenly-elevated prices may not be so "insane" given the ongoing destruction of our currency.

The pricing of Black Guns and mags could well be even a bargain at such prices if regualations very similar to full auto is placed on current owners. No more production/sales to civilians other than with severe regulations as in full autos. Ruger AC556 will run something near $10,000 and that is one of the least expensive ones available to a buyer. For those having civilian versions of the 15 over the past few years should well have known that additional price increases would take place w/ current administration. Upon expiration of the previous "ban" would have been a good time to plan ahead and buy whatever at normal pricing. I would not blame a dealer if he attempts to profit from conditions that exist at this time and will say we have local dealer that maintains his normal pricing for items that he sells. Consider him a good guy, but I would probably not be so good if I were the dealer. At least today, we have a free marketplace.

It really comes down to morals. Some have it in excess and others have none. Unfortunately, the have none's far out number the have's. THAT is what is wrong with the "modern" American society....rotting from the inside out. Don't worry about the Muslims destroying America...the ones lacking a moral guide are doing a fine job of it themselves. Nuff said on the matter. You know where I stand on it.

Amazing how many people never studied Economics 101 (especially in Washington)

A sale is defined an exchange at an agreed upon price between a willing seller and willing buyer.

Priced a 65 Shelby 350 GT Mustang recently ?

If you don't believe in the free market move to Cuba where there is no "scalping" (or anything to buy !)

Unlike Obamacare, nobody is forcing you to buy ANY gun.

Ironic. Muslims are prohibited from charging collecting or paying interest as well as limited in the amount if profit they can make on a sale.

The irony is that you would, out of the blue and out of context, throw in your belief that Muslims are a threat to the American Way - while you limit te behavior of others in free enterprise. Ironic that what frame as a boogeyman is the same action you espouse. And I bet you were unaware of this part of Islam, which is ever more ironic.

It wasn't my fault.
He called me and offered me that amount out of the blue. I had let him shoot it a couple weeks ago. He calls and asked if I would sell it. I said maybe, then he offered the number you see.

No they have no exemption, they have formed a Cartel (also covered in Econ 101) to control the price of their product by collusion.
If the Kenyan were not in office and we had a Congress with any guts, we could tell them to f-off in 5 years or less with new Nuke plants, offshore drilling (gas & oil) real incentives for industry and the public to stop turning all of the country into greater Los Angeles.
BUT we won't and our trip down the UK's path to third world status will be on a fast track.

My bumper sticker from the fall of TWO-THOUSAND-EIGHT. Did I miss anything ?

Rich, I can only say I wish I were so lucky.
Actually, while the crowds were all clamoring for black rifles, I quietly snuck out and ordered a flintlock blunderbuss. I know, call me a contrarian ...

IMA has an infrequent TV show. One episode was where they were buying stuff. Guy comes in with a chest of things. One of the item inside it was a STg44...all original. The guy behind the counter asked him what he wanted for it. He thought a little while and replied $200. The two guys behind the counter about fell on the floor laughing. They regained their composure and the one said "Sir, this is worth far more then the $200 you asked. They explained what it was and a much fair offer was secured.

Good thing it wasn't you behind the counter Rich. ...and you profess to be a Christian??

You numbnuts. Rich told you the buyer made him the offer. Your IMA "reality" series had no idea what he had...if you really think the show is spontaneous, which only a Rhesus monkey would believe is anything but a staged cartoon.

And what does selling a rifle to one who made the offer have to do with his spiritual beliefs? Enjoy your kool-aid.

Listen numb nuts and brains...it's has to do respect for one thing. If I had the same situation I would have asked the guy why he is offering to pay such a high out of the range price for it and listen to what he says.

I guess the both of you take candy away from children too huh?

At least my kool-aid won't be bought from you two.

It would be interisting to know how many are being manufactured per day. I would think the makers are going full guns now.

(Figures are just a guess)

If any body has better numbers please use them.

Lets give a figure for all manufactures of 5000 AR types per day in 40 days we have surpassed the number of NFA weapons.

If it takes 180 days to pass a bill thats 900000 new AR types not counting all others that would fall under this ban.

If it takes a year we will have apox 9 times the number of new ARs compared to NFA weapons.

I don't think they will bring the price of NFA weapons but it will drive the price up
