I was looking for triggers a while back and wanted to take a look at the McCormick. Cabelas is the only one with them in stock. I noticed Brownells and a couple of other companies dropped them.

I wondered why, and apparently there have been some issues with the McCormick and a couple of recalls. I am not sure if he shut down or whether he just stopped sales and deliveries to fix what started sounding like some major issues.

Some damn fine triggers out ther aside from McCormick - Geissele for a two stage, JP, Jard and Jewell.

Did a little research, the McCormick was under recall early 2008. Couldn't find them using a search engine. Maybe they are back at the drawing board??
Found americantrigger.com "ar-gold" trigger. Looks like McCormick might have had some input.
Anybody use on of these?

I put a JP Enterprises into my latest build. It's easy to adjust once you read the directions over a few times. But we are men, so who does that? I bought mine at a gunshow, but it seems to have a Brownells p/n on it: 452-015-000. The literature that came with it uses JPFC-1 as its p/n. Comes with both written and DVD instructions. Price was about $140 in November 2007. Probably $1400 now. To reduce mass and speed lock time, I ground the big "hook" off the back of the hammer. It ain't pretty and I don't really know if it reduced lock time much at all, but I think it did, so I'm happy with it...

I just did a Google search on just the Brownells p/n-- popped right up. Still $140...

McCormick triggers are sold as CMC triggers now. Likely great in an ar15. The trigger had a great feel, 3# straight shoe tactical in my r25 / ar10 but had a high failure to fire with any military milsurp ammo. It went back

i found that that is a rather common factor with ar triggers 3# & less. 3.5 seems to be about the limit to fire milsurp. just to light a spring in the really light ones. they do work on reloads but even then give an occasional blurp

ever considered a Jewell? Adjustable from 2-7lbs, two stage. I have one in my DPMS 308 HB. Awesome trigger, and zero issues to date.
