If I'm right I'd say in the late 1800's. Only Question I have as to ID is that I know him as W. Richards, a name that made Westley Richards of London(?) twitch more than a bit. W. Richards made a lot of fairly nice quality and plentiful trade guns among other things, and I speculate he didn't mind taking advantage of his name, or that of the London House either. A friend has one of his Cape Guns in 16 Ga/40-40 Maynard(maybe)...One of the prettiest pieces of that genre I've seen. Underlever and damascus, lovely piece.

My father in law has a double shotgun of the same name. It was made around the turn of the century by cresant arms. They were inepensive guns but the quality was ok. I believe cresent arms were based in western NY. You can still see them used at cowboy action shoots.
