Can I post the information on a gun shop here that has seventeen Old Model 70's for sale?

Jeffe,

I only got to see them. If this post is inappropriate, go ahead and delete it.

There are several rare calibers.
I just thought it was a significant enough sale to mention.

Old Model 70's are just special to most of the members.

Gary Hopper of Boise Gun Company in Boise, has a collection that is initially for sale as a set. Asking price is $70,000.

208-376-4440. I do not know if he has them on their website. They are all in very good condition. I did get to hold most of them for a look.

Rich

I hope this is okay with Saeed.

Guess I should clarify that last post. I have no idea what Model 70s go for, so I'm wondering....what IS the market? What is the rarest of the pre-64s and what would the market bear for it? At first blush, and no knowledge, I thought 70,000 sounded awfully high, but, maybe not?

Mr. Sharpshooter, Sounds familiar. Been on their site for a while I believe. Somehow, they seem to think the collection has more value than the sum of the value of each individual gun. I tend to disagree. However, thanks for posting the offering. CB

WOW!! Thanks for the tip...that's worth a drive to Boise for...and just to see old Gary....thought his son had taken over??!!
Just for reference....the Hornet, 264 and 200 are each selling for $2K+, 458 is 5-9K...35 Rem, wow....maybe 10-12??...the most rare 9mm Mauser and 7.65 Argentine Mauser...12-14k+!! Super Grades....depends on caliber, can be pricey!!
I just spied a spectacular 3 digit, Super Grade, 22 Hornet, CARBINE in a shop in WA...I haven't bought it yet....but traded into a Super Grade 375...Nice, YUM!!

try and buy a clean 257 Roberts for much less than $4K.

iirc, the 458 and 338 WM are both first year models.
