I bought a Featherweight 308 made in 1953. Has Winchester ribbed recoil pad (1957 or later) and detachable Wnchester swivels. It is about 98%. I did not realize a 1953 rifle could not come this way. Also has a neat Weaver K2.5. All in all a very nice rifle in very nice condition. Just not a 1953 original featherweight. Need some help on value. Thanks

To me that rifle is quite desirable as I would hunt with it as it is. Of course there are two variables with pricing old M 70's and the collecting component makes little sense to me although I know it's the real world.

I found a .308 Featherweight just as you describle about ten years ago. I paid about $400 then and it's as good a rifle as one could want.

Today I would pay $600 for such a rifle if the LOP fitted me. But you would never even find one here in CT for that price at a dealers. Maybe some poor widow might get one "stolen" for less of course.
