I have a .32 Colt Police Positive CTG revolver. It's in good operating condition, however, the bluing is gone and the gun almost looks "browned" instead. The serial number is 1183XX. It has black rubber grips. Atop the barrel is engraved:

COLT'S P(?)FA. MFG.CO.HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.
PAT'D AUG.5,1884 JUNE 5,1900 JULY 4 1905

Can anyone tell me approximately when it was manufactured and about how much if anything I should insure it for?

What does the inside of the barrel look like?

What barrel length?

How much wear on the cylinder?

Contact Colt for an "Historical Letter". Finding out where/who it was shipped to may increase value.

Any written providence where the pistol came from - family member carried it on duty in LE agency type letters.
