Well, not the African variety; but still a lot of fun to hunt nonetheless. This pig was taken in North Texas along the Red River with a 63# PSE using a 2 blade rage while stalking. The 110# sow is headed for a date with the smoker! Thanks | ||

Is a red river hog the same creature as an African Bush pig? | |||

The Red River hog is found in CAR , Cameroon, and some other countries in that region. Bush pigs are more likely encountered in areas further south.Their color is different and I believe they are different species, but likely closely related. We seldom get to choose But I've seen them go both ways And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory Than to slowly rot away! | |||
