Well, not the African variety; but still a lot of fun to hunt nonetheless. This pig was taken in North Texas along the Red River with a 63# PSE using a 2 blade rage while stalking. The 110# sow is headed for a date with the smoker!
Thanks

The surrounding scenery could have been Africa! Smiler
Congrats on a nice porker.

Way cool! Thanks for the pic, the archery forum has been a little slow lately so nice to see someone getting out there.

Is a red river hog the same creature as an African Bush pig?

The Red River hog is found in CAR , Cameroon, and some other countries in that region. Bush pigs are more likely encountered in areas further south.Their color is different and I believe they are different species, but likely closely related.

We seldom get to choose
But I've seen them go both ways
And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!
