Looking for an Archery hunt this fall? I have a great one available in Idaho on a private ranch (fair chase)for this fall: 5 day hunt for Whitetail or Mule Deer (your tag allows you to take either) AND a cow Elk for $2,400 + tags and license. Accommodations are in our beautiful lodge and meals are included. Unlike many areas, there is a resident herd of Elk and Deer that feed regularly in the ranches alfalfa fields. This season starts August 30th and ends September 30th. Hunt from blinds, stands or spot and stalk. Tags are over the counter, no draw! Bull Elk rifle season runs October 15th-November 8th and is a 5 day hunt for $3,800. Tags are OTC as well. Antelope are on the ranch but are by draw only. Located near Salmon, ID. Non resident hunting License: $154.75 Deer Tag: $301.75 (good for either WT or Mule deer buck) Elk Tag: $416.75 Archery Stamp: $20.00 Youth hunts are available as well and license and tags are VERY cheap for kids: Lic $31.75 tag $23.75. Can you not shoot a Bull Elk in the early archery season? Or is that only for an additional fee? | |||

Bull Elk are $3,800 but can be combined with Deer. Wolves are free if you buy your tag ($31.75). What I recommend is this: Apply in our wilderness area (B&C bulls are there; Salmon/Challis Nat'l Forest). You get two chances to draw. If unsuccessful, you can get an OTC bull tag on the ranch. There was a discussion about lowering the archery bull elk fee but I won't know for sure until tonight. I'm heading out there in a few weeks to bear hunt. Will advise ASAP.
