When you set up a drop-a-way rest, do you let the rest fall on the shelf or do you let the rest drop all the way down??

Mine falls on the arrow shelf, but cover it with mole skin to stop the noise.

It's better to let it fall all the way down to avoid any part of your vanes getting in touch with the prongs.just like coues said...put in the 'mole skin to absorb the noise shall do the trick.
