Has anyone Bowhunter Hawaii? I've got friends inviting us to join them in Maui next year, I'll be damned if m going unless I can spend a few days chasing some pigs and goats too. Anyone have any info?

We went to Maui in 2009 and tried an axis hunt with Arrow One Outfitters; we would not recommend them based on our experience. There are other outfitters that are found on Maui with much better reviews or even public hunting for pigs and goats. The islands are very beautiful and rich with game, hope this helps.

I'm thinking about public hunting pigs and goats. If I used an outfitter it would be in Africa. My buddy went to Hawaii and did the public land thing and he came close to getting a goat, it sounds like fun. What I'm really looking for I guess is a recommendation regarding areas to hunt, not honey holes just general areas.

I was hoping there would be some more info on this as I am thinking I might do this also.
I've heared for years that there is good hunting on public land for someone willing to hike a few miles.

We just got back from Maui and hunted with Maui Hunting Safari and had a great time saw approx 200 goats and 75 axis deer and one hog. Took a nice silver medal hog with a rifle but the owner has told me that he does bow hunts and is very successful at it. I highly recommend it.
